You've got a point, but it's like most things, don't rise to it. By responding to people who say stupid/inflammatory things it only makes the sitution worse.

Obviously people are going to stand by their own opinions for the most part. If they can't do that without resorting to abuse however, that says a whole lot more about them than you, so like JP says, don't rise to it.

Kookabura's are not useless. They may not be as good as custom made bats but they are certainly not useless.

I don't know how fast I bowl. My team hasn't played any games yet so I can't provide any figures for you...sorry. Other than that, I have played tape ball, and those figures don't really matter.

I turned 15 just a few days ago.

They are blatantly not useless - the people saying that are basically acting all snobby in the "I sl*g off the big name brands and waffle on about ones people have never heard of and that way folks will think I am really cool and that I know my stuff" sense. It's like music snobs all desperately trying to like the most obscure band possible then disowning them as soon as they have a hit.

I on the other hand only would avoid those famous makes because I don't believe they offer great value for money which is an entirely different argument.

I think the bats from the big names are worth their money.

Why would International players buy bats from well known companies if they aren't worth their money (question is directed at you, Warne in making).

they wouldnt, well know companies pay them to use there stickers, and in some cases bats. Dont quote me on this, but i think big companies bat shapes are based on what the pro's want. say the kahuna, i think ponting went to kooka and gave them that shape. ponting then went to his bat maker (bradbury) who then made him his bat which is shaped like a kahuna, then kooka sticker it up. The reason for going with bradbury is wood quality and expert craftmanship. bigger middle, thicker edges but lighter for example. SO i think when you go to a retailer and buy a kahuna you are buying a bat similar to ponting but not exact. In this case I am certain bradbury make pontings bats and clarks for that matter.

You got that one all wrong didnt you said! Nearly all of the pros bats are made by the other companies, as they are better made. Some are all shippied from pakistan, not handmade at all, and making as many as quickly as possible. Its like a Sofa (odd example).  Some companies make alot and advertise, (only brits will understand this) but they fall apart. You want a better quality one, from somewhere not as well known

Thats odd - i e-mailed them and they said bradbury made them. I think that they do - the person who e-mailed you must be doing a kooka advert! like us and fusion in a way!

I would rate my bat a good 9/10. It isn't too heavy, it isn't too light, it is just comfortable. It has a great pickup, and has powerful driving power. The other day in the nets I was practising my straight/off drives with a friend bowling to me, it had some good power to it! Here is a picture of it. It's a BDM Sting. I have made lots of runs this season with a high score of 108*. I get atleast one six every game. My current average is 68, which is the second highest average. I was in first place at one stage, until I got out, but I still have time to get that position again. :)

Dollars have never been, aren't and won't be a valid currency in the UK my friend. Pounds (£) is where it's at.

If you are still growing then DON'T get a really expensive bat.You are going to grow out of it in no time at all and that would be a waste.
I use the Hunts county "Vision" bat which cost me about 18pounds.I bought it in 2003 and it's still going fine and I assure you that there's no probs hitting sixes with it!
