Team news , Zim unchanged from last week's annihilation and SA have Nel and Zondeki in for Ntini and Pollock.

Zim now 124-7 after 39 overs , Ebrahim top scoring with 37. It's a greenish track and overcast conditions , but it's no snake pit!

Interestingly it's Streak and Blignaut at the wicket now , can the two old boys make the score respectable?

Even with the delay for rain it does look as if the full 90 overs will be bowled today. The 150 up for Zimbabwe but they are 7 down. This should be a pretty flat wicket to bat on or it looks it anyway with absolutely no grass on the pitch what so ever. Its flattening as well due to the rain setting in as the groundstaff haven't done a good job to clear it all and the hardness is disappearing and quick. The outfield still seems quick enough though so South Africa should have no problem in finding the rope.

Grassless????? The wicket is green JAL!! Maybe your TV is kaput , or the old eyes are failing you !

Seriously , Centurion ALWAYS has grass on it , not that it makes it unplayable , just sporting. Good carry , a little seam movement and short boundaries - gives rise to entertaining cricket.

No that's what i mean. Centurion is practically always a lushy field but today it seems to be dead. Or maybe its because i'm thinking of it in comparison to normal pitches up there? Its not a typical centurion pitch you have to admit, there's no zip to it.

Agreed mate , it certainly doesn't appear quick - but that might be because the SA bowling attack is pedestrian !
Methinks a 26 year old Alan Donald would have 'em jumping around !

Blignaut's pleasing the TV audience though huh !

Something fishy going on here !!! Grame Smith , that fine orthodox offspinner has sent down 7 overs of unplayable stuff for a very unlikely 39 runs !!! I can only think that Blignaut and Streak have gotten lucky , or there's a leather jacket on offer again !!

Wait lads !!!!!!!!!!!! It get better !!!!!!!

That destroyer of batting lineups is now on - the GREAT A.B.de Villiers !!!

To give you some idea of his prowess as a bowler , cricinfo doesn't actually put anything beside his name to tell us exactly what it is he bowls !!!!

I don't believe what's going on out there! What the hell is Smith doing bowling and such rubbish at that too? AB taking the bowl? He's a wicket keeper for god's sake!!!!! My god what a joke! Yeah i think you're right about the attack from South Africa making the pitch look worse than it is. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but that's it. So 200 looks very likely to be on the board now.

I quite agree , if I was Zimbabwean I'd feel insulted at the tactics being employed here. Blignaut has a 50 in even time and at tea it's 189-7.

This just wouldn't happen against Australia and it's a totally different South African approach after they demolished Zim in Cape Town.

Obviously they're GIVING them runs and stretching the match out - I find that totally unacceptable and there should be an inquiry into these shambolic tactics.......let's see you talk your way out of this one Smithy!!

No well i think the case may be that they've thrown the game away through selection. Pollock and Ntini rested and as Kallis is gone of injured they only have one specialist seamer. Boje was pathetic with the ball so Smith had to do the job of spinner but Zimbabwe could well now be looking at 250 maybe even 300 no? Possibly even batting out the entire day and now Andy may even be looking at a century. South Africa have shot themselves in the foot with their selection especially if Kallis can't bat or bowl and even more so if he's done himself further damage by taking on a greater workload in this match which may inevetably keep him out of the series with the West Indies.

8th wicket now down for Zimbabwe but the 8th wicket stand between Streak and Blignaut was a record partnership for Zimbabwe against South Africa. The 200 is up for Zimbabwe and it'll be interesting to see whether they can bat out the entire day today.

South Africa have now moved to 200 odd for the loss of 3 wickets. Very annoying stuff. I would wish the heavens would just open and the entire match would be washed out, i mean they had an earthquake in SA recently would it be too much to ask for a bit of rain? No player out there deserves to be playing. None of them.

Well a comfortable win in the end. Zondeki did well and has booked his place on the plane for West Indies. Still , let's not get carried away , Zimbabwe are still awful!!

I agree JAL , I'm glad it's finished too and I'll be giving the ODI's a wide berth too....

Still no resolution to the WI problem - they are cutting it mighty fine.....
