well fish cake as i have given more time to bowling(fast swing bowling) so i better in bowling than batting for the time being but i feel that if i have given that much time to by batting i might have matured as a very good batsman so i think i have enough guts to bat well but the main thing is that i am not strongly built so neither i can be a very fast bowler nor can be a slogger like shahid afridi or gilchrist etc

Being tall doesn't mean you should be a fast bowler. Pietersen is tall, isn't he? Are you a better batsman than bowler, or do you just enjoy batting more? As one bowler once said, bowling is a job, batting is for fun. Unless the batting line-up above you is really top notch you'll probably get a knock anyway, so why not have a bowl as well? Better than standing in the deep bored silly, or getting a bad back bent over in the slips.
I swing both ways - but only when I'm bowling!

rambo really good words thanks for that but inorder to be allrounder u got to be built strong inorder to minimize the injury chances but the case is different here and i am not strongly built, other thing that i want to specialize one thing of the two thats why i have to choose one as a major.

Actually I would suggest that the bigger and more powerfully built someone is, the more stress their body undergoes during sporting activities.

Strength would help if you are a big-hitting batsman but timing, technique, reflexes and hand-eye co-ordination are far more important for the batsman, surely? And to much muscle mass for a fast bowler will not help his bowling speed. I can think of very few heavilly built fast bowlers and of those I can, at least one had his career destroyed by his leg snapping on him as he ran in to bowl. Flintoff's ankle and the back strains he used to have are partly as a result of the fact he has a big, heavy frame (even though he has lost most of the beer gut).
I swing both ways - but only when I'm bowling!

Be an all rounder! Mainly focus on the one you enjoy but never neglect the other whether its batting or bowling. It doesnt hurt to be good at batting and just the ability to bowl or vice versa.

Attempt to be both and in time you'll know what you are. One side usually comes up stronger

thanks for u people comments but tell me for an allrounder is it good to be a slow pace batsman and a containing bowler i.e the one who tries to stop the flow of runs or it should be the one who when comes to bat tries to hit around all parts of the ground and when asked to bowl tries to get wickets even at the cost of few runs.

Why trying to be a bits and piece player with no utility, I would suggest if you think you can bat better, and enjoy it too, than give it a full go, be the best batsmen for your side and get a permanent slot. Once you have a permanent slot you can start and better your part time bowling. But never try to be good at everything as these players are most likely to be dropped! I have captained a side for a long period as a captain I would always go for the specialist batsmen or bowlers, and in the end fill up the gaps with allrounders as you are never sure which day they will perform!
so far so good!

Yea be an all rounder. At some point you will find your natural role but at the age of 20 your still learning what makes you most effective. Its good to be flexible. In one team you might be needed as an all rounder, in another team you might be needed as just a bowler. So keep your options open.

Your country certainly needs one...........
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.
