how about having a shoutbox for short messages that dont belong in threads, or to get peoples attention

e.g.

"one more player required in test sim 89"

or

"great victory well done england"

Good idea RAL !

AK , it's place to post a short message totally unrelated to the previous one. Like stop press on a news channel. For instance you can report a player injury here without creating an entire thread.

Give it a go fellas , it just might stop people posting dross in the proper threads!

Nice topic. I'm looking forward to it. I have a lot to say that doesn't need a thread of its own. I have been spamming the threads so badly the last couple of day. Now I can spam this.

Ok how about this I think Saj Mahmood looks like he can fit the mould of a number eight batsmen aswell as being a very quick bowler
The First Century I ever saw was Heschelle Gibbs' 228 against Pakistan

did I say he was? Of course he's not, Simon Jones is a top class bowler and will be sorely missed in Australia but Saj Mahmood looks a better prospect than plunkett

I have to disagree with you there Liam Plunkett can bowl speeds of upto 90 mp/h and suits the number 8 spot quite comfortabely unless Mahmood can do well with the ball at the Oval then I may change my mind.

im just saying, given the choice everyone would rather have jones, but like you say saj does fill in his roll well. and he took a huge step to proving that he is better than plunkett in the 3rd test

I don't think that's necessary PF , if it's popular it'll be at the top anyway. Skicky's are really for important stuff.

I disagree with you there. Its like throwing Dravid out when hes 35 and is one year form retiring. Hayden's a good player should be in the team till next year and then retire.

No it's not the same DF, Hayden was dropped from the ODI team 18 months ago. It's pointless brining him back to play for another year when we have phil jaques gong ballistic with the bat!!

Bermuda all out for 334 in their first innings while in reply on stumps at day 2 Canada are 9/365 or something like that John Davison smashed his maiden first-class century 165 off 180 odd balls and Ian Billcliff smashed 125.There currently playing 3rd day but I have to wait for all 90 overs to be bowled to see the scorecard on cricinfo.
