Stanford 20/20 action was on skysports one at 10 o'clock last night and I saw one ball of it. That delivery went down legside and went for four byes. Then my Mum demanded me to turn over to watch an Eastenders repeat. It looks good though.

This definitely looks good. I saw the St.Kitts vs Nevis match yesterday. It was very good. The "dentist" Is a good bowler at 37 years of age.

Yes hawskfan , the dentist impressed me. Some very good short balls and that pitch was very quick as well. yesterday , monsterrat vs guyana. monsterrat -115/8 Guyana - 116/2 Dowlin 54 (42) Deonarine 31 Guyana finished the game with about 4 overs left to spare. The other game was jamaica vs a world cup side Bermuda. Bermuda 74 all out Jerome Taylor 4.1.10.5 Jamaica 75/1 5.5 overs Gayle 40(22) Samuels 25 (12) Taylor continued his form from where he left off agianst india. He claimed 3 wickets in an over and those 3 in 4 balls. He also used a dwayne bravo slower ball that bowled one of the guys as well. The first 2 overs that bermuda bowled conceeded 14 runs then Gayle turned things around with his belligerent batting. He hit 3 consecutive 4's in an over then in the last over , he hit the first ball for 4 then 3 consecutive 6's. 2 of those 3 sixes were massive. he hit 5 (4's) and 3 (6's) in his cameo knock. Samules on the other hand hit 3 (4's) and 1 (6's) Tuesday Cayman Islands vs Trinidad 19:00 ECB (00:00 BST) WEDNESDAY (QUARTER FINALS) ST. VINCENT VS GRENADA 15:OO ECB (20:00 BST) NEVIS VS ANTIGUA 19:00 ECB (00:00 BST) |

Cayman Islands 92 all out 19.5 overs badree 3.5.2.5.3 Trinidad 92/2 Perkins 53(28) Perkins lit up the stadium with some wonderful stroke plays. A former windies u- 19 player had real class and is a real stroke maker. A delicate clip over mid wicket for six and a classy square drive for four was the best 2 shots for the game. A full house is expected tonight for antigua vs nevis. It should be a great one. |

well Guys, these games so far in the Stanford 20/20 are no where near class. All the match has been one sided and no a lot of runs scored. Another major problem is RUN OUTS, 12 games has been played so far and their is about 30 RUN OUTS already (poor stuff). What is can't beleive is the fact that u are playing for a US$1,000,000.00 and they playing kindergarden cricket. Only 3 teams that did not experience Run outs so far Barbados, Trinidad and Jamacia. Highest total so far in the Stanford 20/20 is 175 by Cayman Islands. No other team pass 145. (Salt cricket). My dad told me a Million dollars for the winning teams, he said teams will make 200 every match. Yesterday Cayman Islands hit 4 fours in 20 overs.( Kindergarden school team would of hit more fours). These guys ain't hitting enough 4's & 6's in the first six overs and the limited 20 overs. So far it's been Poor cricket, Kindergarden cricket, They running between the wickets like woman. They playing like guys who hasn't been to School all their life. |

That is harsh. The West Indian players have never played 2020 before so they can hardly get 200+ scores in the first year of twenty20 for them. Even though it is quite strange that the bowlers are dominating the batsman more. I thought it would be the other way around. But what they are doing wrong is simple. It's mostlly the team who are batting forst who make this mistake. They don't know how to pace their innings. They are going for big shots on deliveries that you really shouldn't. But looking at the bowlers, I must say that even though they are getting plenty of wickets. Looking at them they are bowliing very substandardly indeed.

I still enjoy watching the competition but you can't help but think that they do seem clueless when playing.

St. Vincent 122/6 Bascombe 35(34) R. Lewis 4.0.18.3 Grenada 70/3 10 overs. Grenada won on the D/L System so its good by for my home side. St. Vincent started off real quickly bring up the 50 in 6 overs then after that , Grenada and Lewis their captain who played for the windies restricted them. Lewis was deprived of a Hat trcik by a drop catch. The grounds men were poor in bringing on the covers , the pitch was exposed to heavy rain for about 2 mins whih delayed the vincentian innings for about 35 minutes.
Nevis 213/3 Willett 86(46) 8 (4's) 4 (6's) Woodley 49(29) Powell 21(9) 3(4's) 1(6's) Antigua & Barbuda 170/9 Baltimore 45(29) Roberts 36(22) Maynard 4.0.25.3 A match that was delayed for about 80 minutes started at an appropiate time 20:20. This is the best game of the competition so far , from the word go , Nevis started to swing the bat. The 16 year old youngster powell smashed his first ball for 4 this time but the 2nd one went for 6. Willett 50 came from 25 balls smashing the bowlers all over the place. He was playing well on the up and smashed some real huge sixes. He and the veteran S. Williams put an a 100 partnership in 50 0dd balls. Antigua were struggling at 70 for 7 but really slammed the nevis bowlers in the last 8 overs. Nevis dropped about 8 catches and all of them were sky scraper , even the keeper missed one as well. John "The Dentist" Maynard bowled with hostility taking the first 3 wickets. In the late of the antiguan innings , it was a show from Curtis "The Hammer" Roberts smashing 4 sixes and one he hit right out of the park which was never retrived. Jamaica and Guyana will battle on friday at 15:00 ECB and Trinidad will take on Barbados at 19:00 ECB and I hope they will be as excited as the nevis one. |

The windies palyers themselves aren't having any problems. Its the mediocre players and sides are having all the problems.

teams like the caymans , bahamas and so on. The big guns like trinidad , barbados , jamaica and guyana or real solid. About 40 run outs have happened in the tournament allready. Anyways , no play was possible until 17:00 yesterday but still only 2.4 overs were possible and the other game was called off as well because of persistent heavy rain. The games are scheduled for the same times today thats if its not a deja vu. This ground have one of the best if not the best drainage in the world. The ground dries in about 20 minutes for heavy rain but the weather was bad yesterday so thats why play wasn't possible and it was cold as well. |

Maybe in a few years time. I am not really all that strong like gayle but still strong for my age. Here are the results. Trinidad 142/9 perkins 36(30) Bradshaw 4.0.25.3 Barbados 96 all out Trinidad didn't play all that well one could say but they out shone barbados. Jamaica 163/6 Hinds 44 (33) Gayle 36(31) 2(4's) 1(6's) Samuels 32(20) 3(4's) 1(6's) Guyana 168/7 Crandon 71(39) 12(4's) 3(6's) This match was a thriller and Guyana won in the end. Jamaica started with a bang as gayle and samuels took apart the guyanese attack. When samuels and baugh departed quickly , the run rate went down then gayle followed but W.Hinds pick back up the rate to the end to make a good total. Guyana started the run chase badly but they sent in their pinch hitter crandon who just did what a pinch hitter is suppose to do. Luck was playing with him and he took advantage. He was dropped on numerous occassions and a lot of bad fielding cost jamaica the game. Crandon brought up his 50 in 23 balls making it the quickest of the tournament. Jerome Taylor conceeded 45 off 4 overs. Guyana finished the game in 19 overs and a six. Guyana take on Grenada on thursday 19:00 ECB & Trinidad take on Nevis on Friday and at the same time as well. |

First of all guys , the matches are thursday and friday the 10th and 11th respectively.
Nope AK , thats the semi's.
Thats because I haven't made any club apperances yet. I am only sixteen as well and really and truly , these stupid selectors we have in St. Vincent doesn't believe in youngsters. They believe in the old dudes and believe me , there is one 18 year old from the u - 19 who were better than some of those guys who participated in the competition. The kid actually made the only century in our local 20-20 league and there is also another lad who is about 18 as well. He is a left arm fast bowler and gets figures but because he is young they left him out. Trust me , he is quicker than Butler and have a better line.
Like I told ak above , I haven't made any club appearance and so on and haven't played in the local 20-20 competition as well but those 15 year old lads who were bowling 82 mph really impressed me and there were also some idiots on this forum who said that no u-19 can bowl that fast. It just proved them wrong. |

I'm a leggy mate and decent batsman as well but I don't know how I would cope with the bigger guys yet but I have faced a few quickies and played them well and I have made all kind of batsman look shameful with my bowling. |

No you are correct rightarmleggy. They have black bats, orange balls and silver wickets. I saw another game last night.
Antigua vs St Lucia. Antigua are good. And I am so surprised that Jamaica are knocked out! I was expecting them to win. |

I am going for Nevis as well. They played very well for their 2 matches so far and their top 4 batters are class and their strike bowler Jonh "The Dentist" maynard seems to be in good nick. |
