Gray Nicolls do sets for about £5 direct from them
There's the Hero Hondas, Woodworms etc on Ebay
Fusion Sports are £5.20 direct

Thats all I know of, if you email companies direct they occasionally sell stickers.

What difference do 'stickers' make?

Do you think so?  Not that I'm suggesting they don't, but I can't imagine they add much to the performance of the bat.

Performance wise they do nothing, however if you are comfortable with the look of your bat and not worrying about how crap it looks you are more likely to score runs as you are focused on the job in hand (scoring runs!)

They also protect the willow and splice area so they are quite useful

I can't imagine it's life or death for the willow, but they do protect the splice from damp etc.

Worrying about what your bat looks like - how strange, I have other things on my mind when confronted with 5&3/4 ounces of redness travelling towards me.  Protect the splice from what exactly - looking like it is having a bad hair day?

Do they, or do they provide exactly the right conditions for capillary action thus potentially accelerating dampness?

I have a thing about stickers etc .......... how can you properly look after your bat if you can't get to the wood?

Theres only a limited amount of stuff you can do around the splice, you cannot oil that area so stickers don't prevent much being done.

The stickers protect in a similar way that anti-scuff sheets do, and at the end of the season you take them off, give your bat a good sanding and get some new ones!

They will darken like the rest of the bat eventually, underneath the stickers had not been exposed to oil, the sun, and general dirt.

I used an unstickered bat against a new ball for the first time in a game on the weekend and the splice took a battering from the backward defensive. Seam marks, dents and a small crack at the 'V' has prompted me to get some stickers asap.

Yup - 1/10th of a mm of sticker will solve that, no question.

Confused

Kingsgrove sports in Australia get any sticker for any bat. Not sure if they go overseas but for any Aussies looking for stickers for their bats, thats the only place i know of that can get any of them.

hmmm... maybe try knocking-in around the splice area?

never done it myself, but would stop it denting when struck by the ball as you would have already compressed the wood with a mallett.

stickers in this area would generally just stop you frm actually seeing the damage that the ball is causing as opposed to stopping it from happening.

hey, maybe i'll make some kevlar stickers for that area of the bat... then it'll last forever while the rest of the bat eventually falls to pieces. ;)

Stickers at the splice of the bat are there for a reason. You should NEVER linseed oil the handle or the splice of the bat. The handle is made of layers of cane and the stickers covering it are a safeguard for you when oiling the bat. The blade is the only bit that should ever be oiled !!!

Everything other sticker is there for pure cosmetics....

I know that you can't buy GM stickers, you have to send your bat to them for them to refurb in order to get new ones.
