Tape over one side of the ball and it should swing.

or get summit sharpe (adult supervision required lol) and make one side smooth by cutting the fur off, and pull at the fur on the other side to make it more fuzzy

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat. |

To get the basics of swing and seam position without using a real ball i'd imagine.

Then why not use a real ball and get used to weight/feel too? I find all these new fangled contraptions odd.

putting tape over one side of a tennis ball basically makes it a
swingball, causes one side to go through the air slower then the other
side which will make the ball swing, it helps teach you to keep the
seam straight and exagerates the swing to make it more obvious how the
seam position is.

Electrical tape works well. If you apply it in strips the taped half should be nice and smooth.

Mainly used for Backyard cricket from what ive seen and used it for, if its done well you can swing it like a metre (or more) either way. Thoroughly entertaining trying to slap outside off only to have it swing miles down leg.
