yer but i never said you called symond useless in this topic, i was origiginally directing it at some other posters untill you went into bat for them and it ended up back firing on you. OK now listen untill anyone on this forum play's internattional cricket agaisn't these players thats when they can start calling them useless. OK sorry if ive got you annoyed but im allowed my opinion and its a good one as ive been told by former test cricketer Tim Zoehrer who was the one that told me this. ITS fine if your saying flintoffs better i agree with you and the good thing is that isn't calling anyone useless it it?

No problem Macca , that's what a forum's about , good old fashioned debate!
I didn't get mad either , I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I look forward to some more fencing in the future. Edited by Sledger |

You guys appear so goodly eyed towards Flintoff How can you say I should Flintoff is a good player when I obviously see Smonds as better. Stop being so one eyed and think of it from another angle. The only reason why you think Flintoff is good is because he was the only English batsman who actually scored runs Edited by cricket_mstr |

how can you argue against such a fantastic debater, perhaps we'd better give up now sledg and clobbs ?? Cricket_Mstr no matter how many angles i look at it, or how many eyes i look at it with, i always come up with the same answer.. Flintoff is simply the more complete player... i can see that and i'm Australian... (dunno if i like to admit that at times when i see that your location is Australia though) Neither of us is saying that symonds is no good, theres no doubt that he is, Flintoff is just better and his record proves that. |

oh sweet jesus. I think from now on the standard approach to anything cricket_mstr posts should be to smile and nod your head sympathetically, then simply move on |

Currently Shaun Pollock holds the world number one All=rounders tag. He is the number one bowler (way better than Symonds and certainly has a better economy and average than Freddie), and a top slogger for South Africa lately with several blazing 50s against Australia. SO this poll is blatantly biased towards Freddie and that mangy haired Aussie yob! |

JH Kallis is the only player in history to have 8000 runs, 200 wickets and 100 catches in BOTH forms of the game. Only Sobers (tests) and Jayasuriya (one dayers) have achieved half that feat.

Only in that daft ratings system. You can't seriously be telling me that a clapped out slow medium bowler who occasionally flogs a quick 30 is the finest all-rounder in the game? |

yer good point clobber, i like pollock i think he is a quality player, and yes his statistics back this up, but a key part to these allrounders we are discussing here is what impact they have on cricket matches, pollock hits his 30s and picks up a couple of wickets, keeping his statistics in tack, but the ability of symonds and freddy to change games in an hours play and put the momentum with their country is a massive contribution, hitting a quick fire 60/70, taking a great catch and run out, and having a great spell with the ball is performances you get with these two.

Ive never seen Symonds play as he got drunk the night before the game in bristol and was not alowed to play as a punishment
![]() but I reacon Freddie is definatly the better player, he is the nucleus of this susefull england teem, the best england bowler and he has showed that he can bat sensibly and build an innings. I dont think Symonds can be considerd Auz's best bowler or as good a batsman as Freddie. Allso last sumer before the ashes the australians said that they would like to have Freddie in their teem. I dont think England would want Symonds Freddie allso wates till the game is over to get pised ![]() |

I know watching Symonds go out to bat in an ODI match I instantly feel the other team is in trouble, because Symonds is a powerhouse of a hitter. I'd say Symonds would be better with his ability to destruct high and low class teams

Flintoff is the stand out player of England, Symonds has to match his batting with Ponting, Gilly, Clarke and Hussey and his bowling with Hogg and Clarke. Its only when the Aussies are in trouble that Symonds steps up his game to this higher level. I've seen Symonds in both batting and bowling step up and do his part when his sides in trouble. |

Rubbish! Come on mate there is no way that flintoff is the stand out batsmen in the england side. Same with the bowling he was a stand out performer in the ashes but when everyone in the bowling attacks on song then he starts to sink into the background

The fact he said Symonds bowling has to try and compete with that of
Hogg and Clarke tells you all you need to know about him as an all
rounder

Forgiving your grammar lad , but it strikes me that Symonds and Wendel Sailor are two of a kind - they're fantastic at the destruction of high and low class bars! |
