Not yet - he's stayed behind, but it sounds likely he will join up with the squad before the start of the tournament.

Too many superstars are missing from this worldcup, don't want to see another out of the tournament for no good reason.
Ah i just want to see a man like Ponting firing his bat crazy against bowlers like Vass and Murali to know if he can really stand the heat in the Kitchen or he just have to stay out of the kitchen then.

Cricket world cups are fast becoming a joke. Hence why I'm more interested in the rugby world cup.

yes, 100 - 0 score lines against teams like japan really get the heart racing, this 20-20 comp is more like a world 7's.
I stated from the start that this tournament is nothing more than light entertainment.

I'm disappointed with you Samhache - leaving out Cricket to watch Rugby.

SW , in NZ, rugby is everything and cricket a distant
second. To be honest the RWC is far more important to me than the
T20 too !

well bro, back home where i live they don't show any international news on tv and the newspaper doesn't even come close with other international cricket teams other than west Indies.
I can't see it on the news or in the newspaper.

I guess you've had too much entertainment in your youth days eh?
Anyways, fo me, I'll even take the Hong Kong 6's over a game between Man Utd and Chelsea.

True, true, Man utd and Chelsea highlights package can be seen anyday.
Their ain't nothing better than watching cricket live. Tense moment, excitement, finger nails bitting off, beers cracking, bad words passing, tears in eyes, faces happier than king.
Cricket always and over many many things for me even Girls on a couple of occasion.

Sledge you got it! The RWC only comes around every four years, and we've only won the damn thing once, so, we MUST win it this year!

Yeah the 20/20 worldcup comes here for the first time, rugby can wait. Watch the Rugby highlight package instead so you can see the 20/20 matches live.

I'll be watching both tournaments, but, the RWC takes priority if the All Blacks are playing!

It's more open than any other tournament, the short nature of the game means all of the teams are in with a chance, even teams like bangladesh, who often are able to put together short displays of good cricket, but unable to sustain it over longer versions of the game.

Nice analytical skills there 143. You've really disected it quite nicely. But, im going to have to disagree. By saying all the teams you're implying that teams such as Scotland etc are going to have a chance to win, which I know will never happen.

What he means is that given the nature of the tournament it is possible for close matches/surprising outcomes.

It's logical that results in this form of the game will be relatively close. Given that bowlers have a maximum of 4 overs and batsman will only face an average of 10 balls anything is possible- even tail-enders can swing a bat.

Trent Johnston was their talisman, he made sure they progressed against a somewhat 'halfhearted' pakistan side.

I've always thought Ireland possessed an excellent top-pocket- not sure how much it will count for in T20 though.
