Hello everyone and welcome to the  new game called Test Sledger. Basically the object of the game is to give Sledger a question that he does not know. The questions must all be reasonable and you must know the answer to them as well.

Sledger would also like to point out he is not going to use any search engines in his quest to find the right answer. He will only use his noggin. Sledger has been informed of this and will be checking this thread regularly to check out any new questions that have been asked.

The score system will simply be 1 point for an incorrect answer and 0 points for a correct answer.

So how much does Sledger really know about cricket? We are about to find out......

Who caught the catch that secured England's Ashes victory in 1977?

We murdered 'em in that series Clobs !  I think it was Derek Randal and the batsman was Rod Marsh.

Tough one Bondy!   1st guess would be John Reid , then Glenn Turner , last Martin Crowe.

The answers Martin Donnelly. It was scored at Lords in 1937 when he was aged just 19!

If you had of got the answer I would have been utterly amazed. John Reid was an excellent guess. In fact I withdraw this question.

Just an aside fellas , but if you want to throw some tough questions , that's fine , but some added information might not go amiss !

Bondy's question is a case in point. I have heard of Donnelly and just might have thrown his name into the ring if I'd have known it was pre-WW II

Here's one.

Sir Donald Bradman score 2 triple centuries in his test career, both against England. What is his 3rd highest score in test cricket and who was it against?

See you later Gilly! Thanks for the memories!

No idea lad !!   I know he made one visit to India and had an amazing average there - if not against them , it was probably against SA !

I used this question in a quiz shortly after the event mate!  Zimbabwe were routed by Chaminda Vaas - can't remember the figures , but he took 8 wickets!  That was a proper Zim team too!
