It was Sri Lankan Keeper Brendon Kuruppu. I hope you must have heard his name. His double century still remains the slowest in first class history.

Its 1972, Aus VS. Eng at the Oval.  Something happened for the first time in the history of test match cricket in this contest.  What was it?

I must confess I didn't know the answer to this, but I was reading and thought this was interesting so....yea...

Great memories of that series scuudz , as it was my 18th birthday that year!  I remember the series was drawn 2-2 , it was a very topsy turvy series between two evenly matched sides.

The only thing that sticks in my mind from that series was the Chappell brothers making a hundred in the same innings , but I can't remember if that was in the final test match at The Oval !

That was the West Indies tour in the late eighties !  Gatting was replaced by John Emburery , who lasted just two tests. He was replaced by Chris Cowdrey who , I recall , got injured in his one test in charge.

Uncertain times for England , those days mate !!

Strange indeed seeing Hadlee finished before those two were known.

Spot on!

Do you know the first Australian wicket keeper to score a century?
