My picks for the best batsmen and bowlers of the WC:
 
Batsmen: Ponting (ur crazy if u dont think so), Gayle, Sangakkara, and the darkhorse Scotty Styris (coming back from injury, good rec in WI)
 
Bowlers: Vettori, Murali, and one, if not a couple, of the Aussie strike attack

Nice joke WG, but I see lot of potential in Panesar and he may be actually become better than Vettori as a bowler in the future.

2-2 I think, it does not matter how strong Indian bowling is, Jayasuriya is gont to take them apart. But without Vaas and Murali, Indians also can say the same about SL bowling. Unless there are flat tracks for the Indian flat track bullies it's going to be a tense series. I like to see surfaces with bit more lateral movement or spin for that matter, where a 260 is a winning score.

Seeing the way India played against West Indies I think India will demolish the lankans 4-0. One reason is cause of Murali & Vaas are being rested and without them there bowling attack looks weaker then Bangladesh. Plus look at India's batting it's by far the strongest in ODI's with the likes of Ganguly,Tendulkar & Dravid all firing in there last series are the big guns of the sides also with Dhoni,Yuvraj & Uthappa also ready to punish this weak attack. The only dangers I see from the Sri Lanka are Sangakkara & Jayasuriya.

actually mahela jayawardhana, dilshan and arnorld are also in great form.  yah only prob sl has is their bowling attack. the main 2 bowlers in this tour for sri lanka would be maling bandara and lasith malinga. last time india faced lasith malinga, malinga's bowling speed was 138 some thing but now it is around 150. and malinga bandara did good in australia last january.
 
if sana fired up begining of da inning we sure can win. also if he failed we still have a chance to win with our middle order.

You can't say Russel Arnold is in great form when was the last time he played international crickert? Also Mahela Jaywardene & Tillakartne Dilshan are not in th best of form at the moment. Plus Malinga Bandara did have a good series against Australia in that series problem is that was last year. Lasith Malinga maybe bowling upto 150 kp/h but it's not all about the speed if he can bowl a perfect line & length and delivery then he may cause a few problems but with that sling arm action it's hard seeing him bowl like that.

Either you had a serious injury and was comatose in the hospital so not able to see cricket, or you are just ignorant.

Lasith Malinga was SUPER ACCURATE last year. It's hard to imagine how he does it with a slinging action.

mahela, arnold and dhilshan scored tons in domestic mathces in sri lanka. thats why i sed they r in a good form. arnold, upul chandhana and malinga bandara has to do their best in order to take a part in the world cup so im sure they will do a good job in india.
ah also malinga in a great baller and many batsmen r still struggeling to pick him.

This WC is gonna be hot! No day-nighters makes it an even better and fairer contest. It's a good thing no flood-lights were around down here!
 
Everyteam is getting practice and they should all be ready to go. There are new stadiums, new outfields, new pitches, new players - Mar 13th, hurry up!

Oh my... What a weekend for South Africa... Firstly, whipping Pakistan in the Twenty20 match by 10 wickets, and then thrashing them by 164 runs in the first ODI. A 392 run target - 7th highest world team total. They're really out for blood.
 
I don't think they're gonna take any match too lightly in this world cup. They really want to win it this time.

It's a must when you watch that kind of total, he crack 78 of 39 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 205.

It was brillant to watch, amazing. He has the ability to hit good balls to the boundary and regurlarly and does it often.
 
Oram is also in great form at the moment, though i'd pick bouncher ahead of him given that he has been more successful overall. Though will see if Oram's rich vain of form continues.

Australian coaches are less to do with the team's performance thes days!! doesnt matter who coaches them. Even if Mbangwa goes on to take thier charge they will keep winning this way only

Yeah I agree. Day-night matches far too often give too much advantage to the team batting 1st.  Wont there be any day-niters at all in the WC?
 
From a selfish viewing point of view I wish there were some (it would make it much easier for me to watch the matches because of the 14-15 hour time difference)....but as far as the competition goes, I'll be glad if there are none...or at least not many.
 
I dont want to see the WC decided by a coin toss.

 That's unfortunate for all the Asian cricket followers - maybe just take a day's leave the day after your side has played.  In the 1st round there's only one real match for each side , the problems start in the super 8 round.

    No respite for the schoolkids though - you have to go to school the next day!Wink
