hello everyone.

The Art of Cricket is being developed by members of the planetcricket community under the name Vengeance Gaming. The game was born out of the creator's (Paul Snell) disappointment at the state of the commercial cricket video games, namely EA Sports Cricket 2004, EA Sports Cricket 2005 , EA Sports Cricket 07, Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 and Brian Lara International Cricket 2007, something which is also a major reason for the large amount of community support the game has received so far.
The name is inspired by Don Bradman's book of the same name. The game was originally called The Cricket Project.

Gameplay Over Graphics is the motto of our team.

here is the list of features planned for the game :-
* Realistic physics. The cricket ball will move realistically.
Many bowling deliveries will be possible, including reverse swing!

* Realistic collisions. Perfect collisions allow you to know when you have hit the ball!

* Statistics. Statistics will reflect real life in the video game. Each batting stroke and
bowling delivery will be graded for each player! Tail end batsmen will be worse than top order
batsmen, and the same for bowlers. Different bowlers will have different speeds that can be
customised easily, so you could have a blindingly fast bowler but then it would be difficult
to bat against!

* All popular international competitions with correct rules.

* Realistic celebrations for milestones, like centuries and wickets.

* Ad hoc stats appear between deliveries.

* Save statistics on permanent records so every match will count for the player's overall career!

* Dynamic weather conditions and lighting effects. It may begin to rain and it will get darker
throughout a day!

* Dynamic new free camera. Adjust the camera to any position and save it.

* Dynamic stadiums, crowds and pitches. The pitches play differently depending on location.
They will also deteriorate throughout a match.

* View replays of your favourite moments!

* Need to go? Save the match and resume it later.

* Autoplay allows events to occur without manual play.

* Awesome batting includes many different strokes on the front and back foot.

* Brilliant bowling. You can tell when different balls are bowled, for example, a Flipper will
come on quicker than a Leg Break.

* You can choose the people that will umpire your match from the official ICC panel.

* Stadiums from all over the world.

* Injuries will occur and players can retire hurt.

* Design and play in your own competitions.

* The events in a match are expressed through a range of statistical graphs.

* The most customisable cricket video game ever.

* Realistic gameplay.

* The new One-day International rules and Twenty20 matches.

* Play against friends online!

thanx. work, schooling, personal issues, social life etc have hampered the games progress
but we have tried to keep up the tempo as much as we could.
after a month long halt, we would be resuming work by this weekend.
so expect some progress/update pretty soon.

hmmm...so first post in 2 years . the game is still in production.

actually it came to a grinding halt in late 2008, early 2009..but we've changed the entire engine of the game. now, we are back with a bang...better physics, better graphics and even more vengeance.

yesterday, we released 3 teasers to display our progress so far.
you can check them out here...
Videos | The Art Of Cricket

another video consisting of more features, physics and animations will be released shortly.

we've also planned to release an alpha version of the game soon(within this month) where you can take control over the entire batting and bowling aspects of the game.also, you'll get to play it in The Lords. :)

your feedback and comments are extremely important to us. so please do reply.

cheers

JK
