The Best Variation To Use When Bowling Fa

hey i am a fast bowler and i dont no what variation to use i have a slower off cutrer but it does'nt really get me wickets... i only use my off cutter agter i have been hit for a couple off boundaries or at the near end of the innings.... does any one have any tips for me please... thankyou

	How about not typing like that all the time? It depends if your genuinely fast, if you are then a slower ball is a good variation especially if the batsman is trying to hit you out of the park. It all depends on the situation, a bouncer for example might be effective to a new batsman but later on as the batsman becomes more confident you will see the ball flying over the rope. You just have to know your own game, know how to react to things and think sensibly. Alot of bowling is down to experience.

	In last overs, only yorkers work Not a single batsman (yes, I meant international too) would be able to hit all 6 yorkers , he would miss one or two...thats when you will be rewarded Besides that, slower bowls are excellent, if u know top spin... Edited by L0rd_Aryan - 02 May 2007 at 5:43pm

	Maybe I'm a one-off but I've hit all 6 balls of an over consisting of 6 yorkers at the death of a batting innings before.

	If your quick on your toes, expecting yorkers and walk down the wicket they become full tosses ready to smack.

	If your going to bowl a yorker it has to be at the base of the stumps, if its only on or just past the crease its cannon fodder. A yorker at the base of the stumps is 99.9% impossible to keep out if they stay in their crease, ive never ever seen a base of the stump yorker kept out, unless my charging

	There is a difference between hiting them and being able to score off them, thats why they are a good ball to bowl at the death.

	It partly depends on what your stock ball is. If you normally bowl an outswinger the surprise inswinger (especially if it's a yorker) can catch the batsman out. Maybe it could be the one that doesn't swing that gets an edge, or lets the batsman think he can leave it only for it to hit the top of off. Sometimes it depends on the batsman. If he likes to drive, and is whacking anything fullish, even yorkers (seen it done), the ball that is deceptively just back of a length can catch them out. And if you are quick, or the batsman isn't expecting it, there's always the bouncer. You don't see it much at lower levels, most people don't wear a bone dome and aren't likely to be looking to hook you, but you need to get your chest into it and bang it in hard or it'll just end up as a long-hop. But really bowling a controlled line and length and perfecting your stock ball are more important than trying to use too many variations. Bowl a good line, keep it tight, not too short. The runs dry up, the batsman gets impatient and then you get a wicket. If you get frustrated and try to do too much, you'll probably just end up bowling rubbish that will be belted all over. In a limited overs game the batsman is usually under far more pressure than the bowler to make something happen. It's not a test match where he can just block all day. You don't have to take his wicket, but he needs to get some runs. Bowl tight and he'll usually get himself out and save you the bother. Edited by Rambo_123UK - 03 May 2007 at 8:22am

	changes in line and length, dont get overly caught up in variation, just change the length more than anything, and speeds. thats not to say slower balls all the time, just some faster than others in the same spot.
