Oh yes it does - because by the revised rule I get nothing (it was a third guess) and those following (who were simply copying) get points as it was their first or second attempt.
The new rule offers clarification, cheers. |

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat. |

What was the term 'blackwashed' used to refer to?
HINT: The answer I am looking for is a particular cricket series. The answer should include the countries involved and the date.

Well played Ramzi, come on Scuudz a little more difficulty please.
The Wisden Trophy, 1984, England v West Indies Etymology, however, is always contentious - there is an argument in the literature that supports 1976 but I won't make it here. |

No point going with something else. An example of a blackwash is when The West Indies blackwashed England 5-0 in 1984. Do we also have to explain what a blackwash actually is? (Even though I think everyone can put two and two together by our answers)

Blackwashed was a term used when the West Indies beat England 5-0 in 1984 in the Wisden Trophy.

Good round for you guys as it was a pretty easy question.
The term 'blackwashed' was first used in the 1984 series which WI won 5-0 against England. This run of form also spilled into 85/86. In the 10 tests that were played between WI and England during 1984 and 85/86, WI beat England all 10 times. One of the highlights of their dominating form was when they won by 9 wickets while chasing 342 in the fourth innings. Gordon Greenidge making 216 that time.

Well, though it seems far too obvious, I'll go for the Timeless Test between England and South Africa, started on 3 March, scheduled
to last for 10 days, allowing for some days that might be missed out
for bad weather. Play continued on the 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th,
13th and the 14th (9 days of play in total, but 12 days in elapsed
time - 43 hours and 16 minutes actual playing time). Rain prevented play on the 11th. On the evening of 14 March
England were 316 and 654 for 5, while South Africa were 530 and 481.
England only needed 42 more runs to win, but England's boat was also
due to leave the next day. So although it was supposed to be a
'timeless' Test, a draw was agreed.

The longest test was the timeless test in 1939. The game was contested between South Africa and England. I think the match lasted for 9 days over a 11 day period. The match was abandoned because the English team had to catch the boat back home!

The longest Test lasted for 10 days in 1938-39. The Durban Test match between South Africa and England was to be played as a timeless Test match and some eleven days later it was still left drawn since England had to begin their two-day rail journey back to their ship at Cape Town.
It still remains the longest ever first-class match of ten days of actual play. The match was abondoned as a draw after 43 hours 16 minutes of actual play. |
