many of u would be saying that this not good comment but i have to say in reality that it is the most boring world cup.because of

the format of the cup

continuous rain

no crowd

no ind pak in super 8

not the best  of the commentators

bob woolmer's death

semi finalist teams almost known

and many more reason i know all of u will oppose but this is my opinion and i have the right to share it.

I don't think so, but I get your point; the size of the crowds mean the ICC aren't exactly making much cash.

I think what the guy means is that because IND, PAK crashed out most people know the outcome of the games that IRE and BD will play.  For example, today's BD vs NZ game.  If this was an IND vs NZ game, then apart from IND and NZ fans, a lot more neutrals would have also watched the game than they did today.

Ofcourse its their own fault that they crashed out but I dont think ars-cric was trying to play the blame game.

A lot more could have been asked on the marketing front, actually one such blunder was that most of the tickets were with indian tour operators and with indias exit a lot many tickets have been returned, generally prizes have been high so not may locals will buy then to watch bangladesh or Ireland.

The outser of India and pakistan has been totally their fault, poor planning , selection, form etc etc , you name it, but it has definately given a big blow to the world cup viewership. Big business loss to many many brands in India and pakistan and biggest loss to world cup organizors.

The unpredictibility of a pakistan or india australia match  has been lost, same would have been the scenario for such duells against england and kiwis, overall a much predictable end is insights. The last blow has been the world cup schedule of back to back matches of home team, so an exit of windies will further effect then spectators!
so far so good!

Not so , many , many packages have been sold but the buyers choose not to attend matches with which they have little interest. This world cup will generate record profits , but it could and should have been organised more efficiently.

As for the thread itself , the creator is suffering from little boy syndrome. His team has been eliminated and he intends to not enjoy the remaining fixtures. It's quite an ask to actually sulk for another 25 days or so - I'll check in the Guinness Book of Records to see what he's up against.

Oh I want NZ to win so badly.  They have been under-rated for ages now.  An AUS-NZ final.....something like the games they played in NZ before the WC.  How sweet would that be??

Yes, they have been bad in the past but more recently they have been performing very well and yet they are tagged as the dark horses and not pre-tournament favourites.

Theres also more than a billion people in the world who think India deserved to be in the Super 8s.  Cant say Id agree with that.  It would be fantastic for the game if NZ won.  Going by how they have played in the tournament so far, they look like they could very well go all the way.

Well with the history of NZ and england I certainly see them getting into the semis but that would be it, they dont have the potential to be real contenders against ausies, africans and lankans. The maximum they have achieved or can achieve is underdogs, or fierce competitors, or unlucky losers in the end.

As far as the the history is concerned, NZ had their best chance in 1992 when Pakistan taught them the lesson in two consequetive games that what it takes to be good and a winner in the long run. I dont see much diffrence so far, they have to be really good to be competitive against the top three teams! Well they should thank their stars not to have Pakistan and India in the super eights.

i was expecting this response from all of u.
where is corwd that teases me that matches r being played  in silence in
this the world cup.
what is the need of champions trophy just before the wc.
and it is still raining in ire vs sa match.

as for the in pak concerned yes they played badly but ban and ireland would not make the best of the super eights.
why pak had the green wickets in both champions trophy and wc just think about it but i am sure u will also make the mess of this point also.i know that pakistan and india are out because they played badly and irish and bangladesh played better.
but why only two green top wickets in almost 35 matches.

The green top was to give you an excuse for performing badly, we couldn't have the players taking the blame. Tell me ars, have you seen elvis lately?

I dont know whats with all the 'pitch was blah blah.....', 'toss was made to be too important', etc.  There have been other pitches that have not been easy to bat on too but the teams coped with them.  India and Pakistan couldn't.  Thats the bottom line as far as I am concerned.

Wonder what the excuses were in 1999 after the WC final.

Green top???? Of course ,  Pakistan lost to the express pace of mighty Ireland !!!  Just how many of the much vaunted Pakistani batting line up ended up in Hospital from searing , rising deliveries from Trent-Johnson.

Ars is right , the curator should be fired - that surface was seriously dangerous!!

I agree that this Wc is very boring one.
not only b/c of Pakistan and Indaia's early exit but there are many other reasons also.
the crowd is not in great number even ponting mentioned it.
Arrangement in grounds is not good.
before the match between SA and SRI  ICC was in tension because there were some problems and even satellite problem was there too.
over all this Wc is not attracting very much.
I also agree that there is something going against Pakistan, I mean why ICC prepared Green top wickets only for pakistan match, first in champions trophy and now in wc. even SA players were surprised to see a wicket in champions trophy.
