Just eat the right foods in the right proportions.

On a plate should be: just over 50% carbs
                                   just over 25% protein
and just under 25% fats (oliveoil, mayonnaise)

Eating a lot of protein is the way to go!!! Mutton, Beef, Pork, Turtle, Lobster, Conch, Whale - now that's the life!

I think they taste a little bit like baby seal and penguin, though others have said they taste a bit more like dolphin.

If your a bowler, the night before the game you should take on some extra carbs, dont carbo load like a marathon runner would but just eat a bit more in the way of carbs than you usually would the night before.

oagood meal containing carbs before a game is good, but not too soon before a game, give food a couple of hours to settle
drinking an energy drink before and durning the game is a good idea, also make sure your drinking enough water because dehydration is not a good idea

The best meat in Britain is chicken. Even after the H5N1 (bird flu) scares.

Yeah, leave time for the carbs to go down. Eat a carby meal the night before the match, and also for breakfast on the morning of the match.
Then, just drink isotonic (sports) drinks before, during and after the game(so you dont lose your energy after the game).

Spin Wizard you certainly get a lot of different food in the Caribbean then we do over here in England, we don't eat as much fish as you, the only fish that we really have regularly is cod, salmon, tuna and maybe sardines, haddock and plaice, not a lot of fish, and most of the cod goes into that battered rubbish which goes down the chippy, I quite like fish but don't have cod that often because I can't stand the batter it's cooked in, it makes me feel sick because it's so greasy and sickly.

On the other hand, most of our meat comes from farmland round here, we have chicken, beef (cow), pork, turkey and lamb (sheep) but we also get stuff like duck and geese and we have game which is stuff like venicon (deer) and pheasant, so our food is certainly different, I don't know how many of you have tried a traditional English roast dinner from abroad.

Anyway, back on topic and I try and eat something like pasta or meat, potatoes and vegetable (or maybe rice and not the veg sometimes) but I'm not really that good when it comes to diet, it's something I definitely need to work on, I also drink plenty of water or Powerade before nad during the match and I might have a couple of cereal bars for replacing the energy, so as I say, I'm not good at diets.

But having a good diet is essential to keeping fit and playing well, you definitely wouldn't be healthy if you lived on a diet of McDonalds, crisps and coke, so you wouldn't be able to play well, so eating healthily is vital to having a good cricketing career.

Cheese is a dairy product which means it contains calcium which gives you strong bones, so it is fairly good for you but some cheese contains quite a bit of fat so be careful what type you eat.

We have a lot of variety of fish and we generally buy them from the fishermen and not in packed products so we get the better of it. We eat a lot of sea food back here like Turtle, Conch, Lobster, Fish of course, dolphin, and some of the caribbean countries like here in St. Vincent (Bequia really) catch whale and we eat it. Seafood are far better than chicken, pork, beef etc!! We do eat Beef, Pork, Mutton, chicken, duck and Turkey too!

I only wish we had that luxury in England, but if you ever come to England don't go to an English fish and chip shop, all the fish is cooked in horrible greasy batter and all they really sell is cod.
