when you hit a ball with out gloves what do you feel? you feel the vibration or shock.
when the ball comes fast to your bat , with a bare hand, there wont be much power in your hitting(forget about the outer cushion and protection we are talking about hitting power). With a gloves you feel less vibration which means more power in shot. With an inner glove even less shock thus better power. you can listen to the sound of the willow and feel the difference.

as a experienced batsmen.. i think inners are a good invention.. they soak up sweat.. give betta grip and pro long the life of your gloves which saves u $$$.. i have used them for the past 2 years and wen a pair get ruined u just by a new pair coz they are soo cheap :) |

Pretty mixed opinion on inners, I like them but a few people seem to think they're just excess weight

depends on the size of your hands & how many grips you have.

In 20+ years I've never batted without inners, and would never use fingerless inners as it is with my fingers that I feel the greatest benifit. I always liken using inners to wearing two pairs of socks when playing squash. The added layer further reduces friction, prevents blistering (I guess you need to bat long enough to experience that though), improves fit. I'm not so sure about the sweat reduction, as mine quickly become saturated.

No, I used them for the last few games of the season and got 60*, my second highest career score wearing them, they are much more comfortable, and barely add anything to the weight on your hands.

Since you bought already try to use, but in my opinion these are giving more loads to your palm/hands unnecessarily.Try to avoid if you feel missing too many balls.

I had a pair of GN Gladius 500 gloves, not the best of gloves to start off with, and they're buggered now. First of all, they're all crusty and second, the right hand glove has split straight down the index finger, leaving the bowler a nice view of my defenseless finger I reckon I'll invest in some inners when I get a new pair of gloves, the feedback about them seems to be positive. |

No the longest I've ever batted for is 20 overs, because we only play twenty20's at my age (13). |

Inner gloves also helps keep your batting gloves in better shape so they will last longer

Yup, my last pair of gloves went yellow with sweat eventually, and fell aprt, so I've invested in some fingerless inners this time, well worth it just to get more life out of your gloves, but i find they do better your grip, and stop the sweat from going through the air holes onto the grip, causing your hands to slip |

Yes, inner gloves are for absorbing sweat and making your gloves feel more comfortable. However, they also provide another important purpose in that they help extend the lifespan of your batting gloves by protecting them and keeping them in better condition.
If you've ever batted for a long time on a hot day without inners you'll notice that your batting gloves not only become slippery because of the sweat but after you've batted the material will often dry hard. With inners you can take them off after batting and wash them, helping stop you batting gloves from becoming smelly .

You should buy them still. The sweat goes all over your hands and the material will rub against your skin and rip it, that's why I wear them and I think they are something to own for a batsman. |

Thanks for all your help guys. I may try inners if the gloves I get have no air holes (and I don't think they have any)
