I know your action mate. I use to use one like that 3 years ago (i spin now). my arm use to come over at the last minute and quick and I use to stutter as well before the crease. It is a very good one though as I find it surpirse the batters. Don't forget the wrist though.
In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

Yes I play competitively for a team in the Worcestershire league, I used to be a 2nd team regular and would take a fair amount of wickets, sadly when I went to university my cricket suffered so I was then dropped to the 3rds. I have started to pick it up again though and took 5 for 27 a couple of weeks ago, my first 5 wicket haul for three years. One good point about my action is that there are some people are so surprised I end up getting a lot of people out 1st or 2nd ball. Maybe I should try and get a video of me bowling or something.

My batting is equally as unorthadox by the way...

You say you're 22 and been bowling all your life , but don't say if you play competitively. If you are playing for a club and still being selected , you must be doing something alright!

If you want to change your action , then you need some help . If you're in a club , that should solve that problem. Don't fret on being unorthodox , Mike Proctor was supposed to have bowled off the wrong foot all his career and he did pretty well! ( He didn't bowl off the wrong foot though!)

Don't be so hard on yourself , the great thing about cricket is there are many ways to play it decently. Just go out and enjoy yourself and keep those batsmen guessing!

Well i dont think there is a way we can help you remodel your action but lets see what the experts say for i am not one of them .

The best advice : Consult a pace academy or a bowling coach .

Hi guys, just found this site and was hoping some of you may be able to help me. Here's the situation:
Basically, my bowling action is awful, we are talking one of the worst that most people have ever seen. I bowl medium pace, used to get a lot of swing but now I seem to bowl incutters (I've been told that's because of my wrist). I bowl very front on and don't really have a jump which makes some people think I look like I'm bowling off the wrong foot. My run up stutters towards the end and my my arm apparantly comes from nowhere at the last moment. It's quite hard to explain but the point is, it's very awkward looking.

When I bowl well I bowl very well, but when something goes slightly wrong with my run up for example, it throws everything out and can be terrible. I am 22 and have been bowling all my life, with this strange action, I don't know how I got it and I don't know why it wasn't coached out of me.

I was wondering if you think it would be possible for me to rebuild my action or whether it's too late and if so, how would I go about it? I guess it's increasing the risk of injury having such an awkward action.

Thanks for your time
Jamie
