on the internet a top end kashmir willow bat would probably cost £45 at the most. But some can be bought for a lot cheaper and are just as good. Such as the Woodworm torch pioneer which can be bought for about £25. hope that helps |

English willow is a soft fibris wood which gives it the best rebound qualities available when hitting a hard cricket ball.
Kashmir willow is harder & more dense therefor you don't get the same ping of the bat when the ball is struck. |

Answer to your first question.
How to tell from a Kashmir Willow Cricket Bat and an English Willow bat? Well, kashmir willow is harder and heavier than the english willow. And the grains on the enlish willow is more visible than the kashmir willow. Second question How come English Willow Cricket Bats are more expensive than Kashmir Willow bats? see the first one. Third question about the strings. I have no idea what you are talking about mate. From what i have gathered. i suppose that you are talking about the how many peices that make the handle. Just to give you a guide line, a decent bat usually have 9 to 12 pieces, which is 3 lines. Fourth question Is it true that English Willow grows in India? (The British took some seeds over and planted them when they ruled india) No, english willow only grow in england. Because the climate isn't right in india, so they can only grow kashmir willows. Some kashmirs willows are called english willow nutured in india just because they want the bats to sound better |

Hi i a new here These are my questions How to tell from a Kashmir Willow Cricket Bat and an English Willow bat? How come English Willow Cricket Bats are more expensive than Kashmir Willow bats? On the top of the blade (Handle of Cricket bat it has lines or called strings) 1 line, 2 lines and the most i've seen is 3 lines. What are they would do they represent do they represent anything? Iv'e heard that they represent the strenght of the bat, example 1 line (string) = soft ball no more than a tennis ball, 2 lines (string) = tennis ball - a practice plastic ball or half cricket ball half tennis ball but ive played one with 2 lines with a cricket ball its fine but gives me vibration when the bat and ball has contact, 3 lines represent they play with any ball but can play with a cricket ball. I find using 3 string bats are the best for cricket balls because they don't vibrate as the other two. Is it true that English Willow grows in India? (The British took some seeds over and planted them when they ruled india) Thanks JJSSJ Edited by JJSSJ |
