I am new to Cricket but hope to learn more.  I live in Buffalo, New York and can't find anyone in the area who plays or even know much about Cricket.  I am trying to find a group in this area-- Buffalo and South Eastern Ontario who would like to get together and play during the spring and summer.

I happened upon this sight and it seem to be a wealth of information.

Don't worry about that Scott, it doesn't stop others Wink
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

Hey Cham3leon, what part of melbourne are you in , if you want to be involved with cricket ever thought of becoming a scorer, while you are building back your strength.
if your interested happy to have u on board at my Club , you can score for the seconds ( The team i captain ). Depending on where you live would be happy to Pick you up and drop you home.
Post a reply and let me know, might be a bit late this season but how about the next one ?

I've made 25 posts already without formally introducing myself... My humblest apologies...

Anyway, I'm Mojo. I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa. I'm 28 years old, and an avid Proteas fan. (and a Springboks fan too - rugby - but that's for another forum)
My fave international teams are Sri Lanka and New Zealand, cos I admire SL's players, and I just think the Kiwis are cool...
I least fave teams are Australia and West Indies, cos Aus is SA's arch-rivals, and WI always knocks SA out of big tournaments.

Well, that's me. Glad to be a part of such an intelligent and diverse forum.

Mojo made me feel bad for not introducing myself.
Commonly known as Chief, my team mates reckon I look like the guy from "One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest " without the Hair.
I am originally from NZ but have lived in Melbourne for the last 22 years

Being playing this beautiful, fustrating , irriating game for the last 35 years and enjoyed every single minute of it.

RHB and keeper althought the knee's are now starting to show the wear and tear of those years.

Look forward to matching wits, exchanging comments  with you all over the coming months.

I support 2 teams the Kiwi's and anyone playing against Australia

Hi all. My name is Tony (my friends call me TJ) I am 26 and i have worked in retail my whole life (hardware). I cant believe i have posted over 50 times times without introducing myself. My apologies. I am a born and bred New South Welshmen from Sydney Australia. I have played cricket for around 10 years until i (believe it or not) broke my leg and ankle playing a pull shot which required me to get 3 three inch screws to put my ankle back where it should be! (My body turned, but my leg didn't). My highest level of cricket was 2nd grade batting at 5 and bowled the occasional right arm rubbish! Played first grade indoor for 4 years. Won 2 grand finals. Anyhow, my favourite cricket side is Australia, Least favourite is England (love to watch the games betweent the old foe) Favourite current batsmen is Ponting, Favourite all rounder is Flintoff, Favourite bowler(s) Pollock/Lee.  Love CRICKET, rugby league, boxing, Union, most sports really! Look forward to chatting with you guys. Great forum. See you round the traps!
Cheers,
TJ

Nice to have you around tank! You're a good poster too!

What a way to injure yourself though! I got to admit, I have never expected one to break part of their body like that!
