I'm afraid he has to be, along with any others who announce their retirement after the World Cup.
That means no Inzy, or van Bunge either. I should do a recap of who's in/out now we've got to a third page already: Australia: Ramzi Bangladesh: ANIL KUMBLE or Rifat Celtic Union (Ireland+Scotland): robbie England: Sledger England A: Clobber India: Minimurali New Zealand: Crownmethod or scuudz or Freddie Pakistan: 70DS South Africa: The Bird Sri Lanka: Warnester or scuudz or Freddie West Indies: AVAILABLE Australia A: scuudz/Freddie/Paul Nixon1 South Africa A: scuudz/PaulNixon1 Deadline for incumbents to respond 4 hours. I'm still waiting for other people to come back to me, and besides, I shall wait for the end of the World Cup in case there are any more retirements.
I shall do the first division as a minimum of 8, that's what I've always done, hopefully 10. |

Zimbabwe

Well yes, unless others want other A teams, or if they want Canada, USA, Bermuda, Kenya, Holland, Denmark, France, Namibia, UAE, Nepal, or any combination of those.
Patience, dear boy. |

Here's what you can all look forward to as this sim promises to be more detailed, giving you more control over your team than ever before:
1) Pitch and ground conditions - home side will be able to choose the state of the pitch (5 options, ranging from excellent to green), the bounce (again, 5 settings from very high to very low), how fast the outfield is (very fast to heavy). 2) Ability to choose what you want to do if you win the toss 3) Each player can be told how aggressively to play from 1-10 - defaults to 5 4) Night-watchman are automatically sent in when the situation requires it 5) Form is a factor, as is player morale. More to think about before selecting your team. Just as a reminder, we'll get going with this around the start of May, just in case more players retire after the World Cup. Plenty of teams available, for example, Zimbabwe, A teams, Holland, Canada etc. |

Yes, certainly.
Obviously, you'll have to wait for the bird to pick his squad before you can do yours. So, here is the updated list: DIVISION 1 England: Sledger India: Minimurali Australia: ramzi Pakistan: 70DS South Africa: The Bird Sri Lanka: Scuudz New Zealand: Freddie West Indies: Fishcake KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT ENTRANTS/DIVISION 2 Bangladesh: Rifat Australia A: PaulNixon1 Kenya: ANIL KUMBLE England A: Clobber 'Celtic Union' (Scotland/Ireland): robbie South Africa A: Slogger 72/NO |

Zimbabwe, Holland, Canada, USA, UAE, Denmark, PNG, Oman, Bermuda....
....or India A, England B, Australia B, South Africa B, Pakistan A, West Indies A, Bangladesh A - that is you pick your team after the 'head' manager(s) have picked theirs. |

You'll have to wait, I'm looking at a start just after the World Cup finishes, so maybe a couple of weeks maximum.
I'm hoping it should be worth the wait. Something else I didn't realise, not only can you set each individual player's aggression levels, there is a team aggression level you can set too. |

JP, I think we should let PF make his Aussie B team up. Have Richie Benaud and Merv Hughes' moustache in again!

No retired players, though. And PF, I'd wait - who knows if Australia win the World Cup again, we might well see Hayden and Gilchrist call it a day. Then there'll be some reshuffling!

I can give you some help if you like - I actually think an Australia B team would be able to hold it's own in the first division.
Think about it, Australia squad: Hayden, Ponting etc. Australia A squad: The likes of Katich, Gillespie, Cullen, Cosgrove Australia B squad: Forgotten men like Elliot, Maher, Di Venuto, Dorey All good fun! |
