averaging over 100 in a season is far, far more remarkable than one 50.

I know but even with all the pressure on Giles I still think averaging over 100 in a season is just unbelievable, remarkable and only a true great could achieve it.

A true great, thats laughable, him and hick the 2 true greats of cricket.

I had a number 10 average above 90 last season,  he was dismissed once with a season tally of 90 runs from 10 innings, 9 no's.

[QUOTE=Clobber]
India: Sunil Gavaskar

I've been debating this for a while; Tendulkar or Gavaskar, though I think I'd go for the little master, just.
Good one Graham!

It's really hard to believe that anyone can be better than the little master for India! Little master for me anyday too!

Off the point, but did you know that a dwarf is officially smaller than a midget. AND a random bloke tried to sue a theatre company for making their seven dwarves an inch or so too tall!!

On the point:

Austraillia - Bradman
England - Can't choose, they're all so greatWink
New Zealand - Hadlee
Pakistan - Khan
South Africa - Graeme pollock
Zimbabwe - A.flower
Sri Lanka - Sangakkara
West Indies - Sobers
Bangladesh - Ashraful
India - Gavaskar
Holland - Ten Doeschate

Sri Lanka? Has to be Murali, arguably the greatest bowler ever!?

Also, we should make this thread from players you've seen play which would eliminate Bradman, Hadlee, Khan, Pollock, Sobers and Gavaskar for you, mate.

first off, for Sri Lanka, it could have been Sanga, Murali, Tendulkar or aravinda. But I am a Sangakkara fan, so that may be byest - still he is a great player though. Secondly, it's called 'world bests' not 'world bests, but only out of the players you've seen
