Hi im 13 and im a leg spinner. my seasons just started playing at the ECB in loughborough uni and my coach really wants me to improve my spin bowling so he can use me in matches. i bowl ok but im having trouble finding consistency with line and length. also if i bowl short the ball wont spin but if i give it flight it spins alot. i know your probably saying "well why cant you bowl with flight then"!the reason is because i dont know how to keep consistency. any guys have any tips? also my action is front on/side on so should i change it to just one? any help appreciated

well consistency is just doing the sam thing over and over. so if you realise what you are doing right on the good balls and bad on the bad balls you can cut out the bad bits and make sure your action is the same each time. this will make you more consistent. also. with spin you shouldnt be aiming for exact points but more a general good length area.

Side on is the way to go. Richie Benaud said, if you're dragging them down, you can be absolutely sure you're bowling front on.

Makes ure you have a proper run up sorted out. If you don't have one, make yourself one and stick to what you feel comfortable with. A decent run up'll help with your consistency as well. Make sure when you make your run up that your front foot won't be going over the line.
