Although it's a great offer, I only have 1 spinner in my squad, so you'd have to offer me a spinner in return for me to consider the deal

Press Release:
A short and not very sweet one today, as manager Rhodes stormed into the conference, he started off with a well done to the opposition and how maybe they deserved a little more, and how Tendulkar played well, but then an intruder came in and roundly abused Blackpools playing style, Rhodes proceeded to shout in rage and brek the mans nose, he was released from the station on bail today with a court case on the 6th of March.

I don't think he's around much at the weekend.
I think I'll go in with the same team for him as the pitch conditions are pretty much the same as he asked for.

JP if I win the toss i'd prefer to bowl first
i want to use the following bowlers only
Jerome Taylor and Stuart Broad to open the bowling, Sohail Tanvir, Jacob Oram and Harbhajan Singh... no other bowlers to be used.

How do you feel about the delay now befor ethe first game?
It is a positive thing as it gives us more time train and we have been looking at the decisions we made for the previous test.
Will there be any changes?
Yes Swann will be in the team for the expense of Umar Gul and Michael Clarke will not be required to bowl our team now looks as follows in batting order.
1. Simon Katich
2. Marcus Trescothick
3.Ramnaresh Sarwan(c)
4.Kumar Sangakarra(keeper)
5.Michael Clarke
6.Owais Shah
7.Jacques Kallis(b)
8.Yasir Arafat(b)
9.Graeme Swann(b)
10.Mark Davies(b)
11.Zaheer Khan(b)
I see that now Owais Shah is at number 6 and Michael Clarke at 5 why have you made this change?
well to be honest it is mainly down to the fact that Michael was batting magnificently in the nets so we expect a big show from him against Perth but that isn't to say Owais wont do well.
If you win the toss what will your team do?
I have advised Sarwan to bat first which i am sure he will stick too.
Who will open the bowling?
It will be Zaheer Khan with his swing bowling first and then at the other end Mark Davies
JP can i keep my agression levels the same thanks

I'm guessing that pitch level 4 is Green but not Very Green like 5 is.
If so I'll go with:
Pitch 4
Bounce 2
Outfield 2
My orders are in your inbox still... I hope .
If not just let me know and I'll send them again.

My team will be playing at aggression level 8.
Dravid : Should be an even contest.
Rahul Dravid, the former India skipper and the KKR vice-captain spoke to the press just before the start of what is anticipated to be a gruelling battle.
Repeorter : How is the teams preparations ahead of the first test ? Dravid : The preparations are excellent. We have got some extra time to prepare which has helped us.
Rep : Your thoughts on the delayed start? RD : Its helped us in a way. We got more time to spend together and get the team going together as a unit. It gave us time to understand each other's game a but more. The fact that we had arrived before meant that we got extra time to get used to the conditions as well.
Rep : Is the green pitch going to be a problem? RD : Not at all. We have very good batsmen. The pitch will be helpful for the bowlers but at the same time its got good bounce and the outfield is quite fast. The initial period with the new ball is going to be tricky but once the sun really comes down it should be a great batting surface.
Rep : Your recent form has not been great although you got a hundred in your last test. What have you to say about your own form? RD : That hundred gave me a lot more confidence. I never lost trust in my ability. When you play for so long you are bound to go through bad patches. I hope that hundred has put an end to it. I am looking forward to a new begining in the new year.
Rep : Playing as deputy under Ganguly again. How does it feel? RD : Fantastic. We know what Sourav's done for Indian cricket and I have enjoyed playing under him. We have played together since the under 15's so we know each other really well. I am looking forward to playing under his captaincy again.
Rep : You will play your home matches in the Eden Gardens. Don't you feel it would have been better had your home ground been the M.A.Chinnaswamy? RD : Look, I am playing for Kolkata and not for Bangalore. I am very excited at the fact that I'll be playing at the Eden again. Its a fantastic gournd and the crowd of Kolkata are just mad for cricket. (Adds laughing..) If you look at my records I play better at the Eden than in my home ground.
He signed off with a smile and giving thumbs up to the public..

Thanks everyone for promptly naming teams etc.
Just to clarify what orders you can give me for each game:
State of the pitch: 1-5 (where 1 is a flat track and five is very green) Bounce: 1-5 (High to low) Outfield: 1-5 (Fast to heavy)
You can select your opening bowlers and wicket-keeper and let me know which bowlers you want to use. I can't determine who bowls third, fourth, fifth etc.
You can set aggression levels (1-10) for both the whole team batting and bowling and then for each individual player.
Also, please tell me what you want to do if you win the toss!
Hope that helps. I'll repost this in a new thread once I actually begin the sim.

I was all set to go and play the games when I discovered that I'd made a bit of a cock-up, basically misreading the sim. No harm done, but all it means that the fixtures are now changed, so the first round's fixtures are now as follows (home team first) Canterbury v Hyderabad Kolkata v Caribbean Perth v Freuchie Surrey v Blackpool West Yorkshire v Melbourne And we can ignore my points system, as the sim will automatically use its own: 15 points for a win plus bonus points for runs/wickets in the first innings 10 points for a tie 5 points for a draw 0 points for a loss Batting Points Runs scored Bowling Points 0 < 150 5 1 150 - 225 4 2 226 - 300 3 3 301 - 375 2 4 376 - 450 1 5 > 450 0 Apologies for this latest delay, hopefully if everyone can get teams/pitches to me over the weekend, we can get going again.

After the surprise postponement of their upcoming match against the Hyderabad Heroes, a reporter finally caught up with their reclusive manager nicknamed "slogger"
Reporter: So slogger what do you think about the sudden postponement? Slogger: No comment here I'm afraid, I'll leave that to the home manager if thats okay Reporter: Of course, so what do you think about the pitch? Slogger: Well it looks like a good wicket that may break up later on for the spinners, should be difficult later on in the game. Reporter: Are you worries about their spinners? Slogger: Well Shakib and Harbhajan are class bowlers, there's no doubt about that, but I picked this batting lineup because it has played all over the world in all different conditions. Strauss, Collingwood and Butcher have both been on numerous England tours, Khan has played for Pakistan in a whole range of conditions, and Ramprakash is an amazing player with masses of experience so I don't really expect them to struggle even against such high quality bowlers. Reporter: How about the bowling, do you think 4 seamers was a wise choice? Slogger: Again I picked a bowling attack that could bowl in a whole variety of conditions, from green tops to spinning wickets, so out here I'm hoping that Mendis will prove why he was the tournaments most expensive buy and get me some wickets. The seamers may not have so much fun out here, but I don't regret picking 4 to be honest, they should still get wickets especially if the pitch does deteriorate and we get balls going through the top surface. Reporter: One final question, how do you rate your chances? Slogger: well they have an excellent batting lineup and some good bowling options, but I still fully expect my lads to win in some style. Reporter: Thankyou

Melbourne owner Bladescape had this to say about the weather interuption that made the first match for his team have to be postphoned:
"The blasted weather interrupted training this morning and is likely to wash out the first match if we continue on scedule at Canterbury.
So I had a talk to their owner,NZFast and We've agreed that this is the least wanted result for both sides,I'd even take a loss to Canterbury over a loss to the weather!
You know what we should do?
We should ban the weather from buying a ticket!
Anyhow,on to other matters,Yashpal and Badrinath are eager to bat in the first match(When the weather is finally averted) because of recent speculation by NZFast and Perth owner Mystery that Canterbury had a better middle order and Nannes,Bracken,Siddle,Rashid and Murali are raring to go in the anticipation of a green pitch which offers little for the batsman.
I'm hoping Hughes can get over his recent duck in the first test in SA as I'm relying on him and Smith to get me off to a good start.
Then again with the experienced campainer of Greame Smith facing the new ball at the other end he shouldn't have much trouble with nerves.
I'm a bit dissappointed with my lower order with Taibu at 7 but I'm confident that he can rack up a few good scores.
I've got a good announcement to make at this stage:
With the research going into this team I've put Thornley into the allrounder status after seeing him bowl extremely well in the nets, and to add another one to that area we now have McDonald joining the team in Canterbury and he is a very welcome addition to the team.
I feel that we're probably the underdogs in this competition because we're using a lot of domestic players instead of international stars.
However I think we have one of the most talented teams in the competition."

It has today been reported on Sport Radio that NZF and Melbourne owner Bladescape have agreed to push back the start day of the first game due to the likely weather interuptions if they continued as planned. Any tickets already purchased will still be redeemable.

I think I am going to have to push the first round of fixtures back to the weekend - an early start tomorrow for the New Zealand-India game means I won't quite have time tonight to get the other teams ready in the sim, play the games, and sort out some web pages to display the results so I'll have a go on Friday/Saturday night when I will have some more time.
Sorry about that, but I'm sure you can build the anticipation up some more with some entertaining press releases ;)

I'd be surprise if JP does this today, or this weekend. His team is playing Test Cricket plus the two of the very best are battling it out as well. Can't same I blame him either.
