That would have been a good idea, but it would go  a bit too far.
 
Yes I agree the number of active member are few on the forum, but we need to keep this forum alive.Contributing my bit here.Hope we will have fun.
 
Five teams is a good number though.

Yes, that is an issue and we didn't have many posts on this thread so that it is always highligted at top.

So 25th today and we have five teams, following teams have been purchased

- Robbie's owns South Australia.
- Milkman takes Victoria
- Zuhair's gets Sailkot Stallions
- Sam's has Royal Challengers Bangalore
- and (all of ) your's truly Raj takes Chennai Super Kings.
 
Unfortunately we don't have takers for Mumbai Indians, Lions, Guyana, Wayamba,Warriors and Central Districts.
 
Now interesting toss time,
 
We need someone to nominate themselves as a neutral member : All that neutral member has to do is create sheet like below and have one number against each of the 1 to 20th matches. Once a number is assigned to one match it cannot be reassigned.
 
For ex , Neutral member creates a sheet like this (This all Neutral member will do... Nothing else)
 
Match 1:      6
Match 2:    19
Match 3:    20
Match 4:      7
Match 5:    18
Match 6:      4
Match 7:    14
Match 8:    15
Match 9:      5
Match 10:  12
Match 11:  13
Match 12:    8
Match 13:  17
Match 14:  16
Match 15:    2
Match 16:  11
Match 17:    3
Match 18:  10
Match 19:    1
Match 20:    9
 
This will be created by a neutral member and he will keep this confidential.He can send this to another non playing member for cross reference.
 
Step 2: Once neutral member has nominated himself, and created a SHEET.Neutral member will post a message asking for toss to begin for all matches.
 
Step 3: Each of the Owner will make just 4 guess for their respective matches at one shot in the forum itself.

By 25th we will have toss, 5 more teams can be taken up. I will be sending PM shortly to team owners.
 
- Team ownership freeze by 25th
- Planned schedule for Toss : where each owner will PM 4 random numbers for their matches to Neutral member by 28th Aug
- Team selection by Toss winning captain for each of the match by 1st
Sept end of day.
- Team selection by each match Toss loosing captain by 2nd sept.

Wow that takes us to halfway ...

- Robbie's South Australia
- Milky's Victoria

- Raj's XXX ;-) {will allow choose if any team available at the end} 
 
If I am playing then , Neutral member will have to arrange for toss (It's one time 5 min job).
 
I will be managing all calculations stuff like scoring of each match, posting match by match results , points table updates etc.

I didn't saw this earlier but my choice is simple and I'm glad it's available, Royal Challengers Bangalore... the strongest team in this tournament.

Yes SW, I know.Still I am trying my best to put some life here.

Robbie,Milks,Zuhair make 3 , I will fill it up for fourth slot , so that makes four already, we just need few more like say atleast 1 each from SA,SL,WI and NZ teams to be picked.

Even if we have 7-8 member , this will be interesting.

It will , but you need to map Sialkot Stallions to one of remaining 8 teams zuhair.i.e


Available team : Pick one and map it
Mumbai Indians;Lions;Royal Challengers;Guyana

Warriors;Wayamba;Central Districts;Chennai Super Kings;

Sold out: South Autralia;Victoria

If you wish , you can even map a player to player , like for example if you take Mumbai team then you can map
- Malinga as M.Asif , or say
- Pollard as Razzaq.

but if you wish not to rename them and play them as it is that is also fine. (bit easier for me to manage).

Effectively it means to say , only the player from your chosen team you can rename in scoreboard, but you have to choose from Your Team+ Opposition team for your 4 match's Team roster.

Yes I wish we had 2 English and 2 Pakistan team . That would have made this much more interesting.

Anyone from England,Pakistan and Bangladesh can pick up any team, rename it and with their local team names and be an owner, if you guys wish. Option available only for Eng,Pak and Ban only.

Thanks mate. Love seeing my boys there again.  Hopefully they can go one better this year. I enjoyed the CL, was a nice multicultural, multifaceted tournament.

Guess for Toss to be done after few days , only after a neutral member is decided for the game. Any takers for Neutral member ?
 
Ok robbie, it's like this, as you are owner of South Australia, your matches are on
4th Match: Sun Sep 12 : Group B - Lions v South Australia
7th Match :Tue Sep 14 : Group A - Mumbai Indians v South Australia
11th Match :Sep 17   :  Group B - RC Bangalore v South Australia
17th Match : Tue Sep 21 : Group B - South Australia v TBC
 
So you will guess your 4 number like say (in RED)
 
4th Match : 5
7th Match : 9
11th Match: 11
17th Match :  16
 
Your gusses are in red , and all this you did one shot.I mean to come once and do it. You need not wait for anyone else to do it.Only condition is wait till the Neurtral member is nominated.
 
Your opponent would also have done his part one shot, so when all the owners are done with guessing 4 number , the neutral member can announce the result like "who won the toss" for each of the matches.
 
Then toss winner of each match has to go and select the team (he would get like some 5 days time), after toss winner of a particular match has selected 11 players , toss looser will do the same(5 more days).
 
Selecting at one shot by toss wining team would not hamper as team balance is maintained in 5 batsman ,5 bowler and a wk combintion would have to be strictly followed for each match Team roaster.
 
That's it.

Guys , your efforts are just three steps
1. Select a Franchise and post it on the forum FCFS
2. Guess only 4 numbers for your matches at one shot for toss
3. Select teams for your 4 matches at one shot

I am thinking of some real men score for us, let's play some nice game among ourselves.
 
I dont know how many might be interested to play this game, hope atleast few members turn up Wink.Let me give it a try.
 
This may seem complex , but believe me it's not. It's just 3 simple steps(Look at the second post in the topic).
 
Group B
Mumbai Indians;Lions;South Autralia;Royal Challengers;Guyana

Group A
Warriors;Wayamba;Central Districts;Chennai Super Kings;Victoria

I want 10 members (less than 10 will be ok, but less fun) to own a franchise of their of choice. Each team will be named like Owner's Name and Franchise, for example  Malhotraraj's CSK.

Once the team has been purchased(FCFS-First Come First Serve), then there will be toss for all the matches between team owners.

Toss Process:
Step 1: I would be generating one random number from 1 to 20 for each match and send it to a neutral forum member via PM in complete secracy.

Example:
Match 1 : Number 5
Match 2 : Number 2
Match 3 : Number 7
Match 4 : Number 11
..
..
..
..
Match 20 : Number 17

Step 2: Neutral member will safeguard the contents and then would start the toss process and ask all the team owners to post their guess on forum for each of thier matches.(I will provide one Excel table that can be filled in just 2 mins)

For example:
Match 1 is between MI Vs Lions, respective owners will post their guess.

Assume MI owner says 17 and Lions owner says 2, then winner of the toss for match 1 would be Lions owner as his guess is closer to the Predetermined number.If it's a tie , then it will be toss again only for that match one more time.

i.e Each team owner will just provide guess for four of his team's matches i.e only FOUR times at one shot

Step 3: Once all owners have filled in the guess table, winner of Toss  for each match will be decided.

Choosing Team for each match:
Once toss process is complete for all mathes, each team owner is allowed to choose his players.Toss winner chooses first i,e all 11 players at one shot for that match ,  then Toss looser owner chooses from left over players of that match .

Example:
In the above case of Match 1 , Lions owner won the toss for match # 1, so he gets to choose his team first. Lions owner will choose 11 players from (MI & Lions) pool. It's up to him to choose any 11 players but 5 Batsman,5 Bolwer and 1 wk rule will apply.

Lions owner can choose Sachin Tendulkar and make him play for Lions against MI.There is not limitations but only from (Lion & MI) pool must be adhered to the Match 1 while selection.
 
List of Batsman,Bowler and WK will be provided soon, so that 5 batsman,5 bowlers and a wk balance is maintained.

Once Lions owner has done his selection of 11 players then MI owner gets to choose his set of 11 players from remaining players from (MI & Lions) pool.

The same will be carried out for each match.This means to say that every match toss winner (Match 1 to Match 20 owner) needs to select his team first, then toss looser chooses his team from left over players.

i.e Each team owner will just provide his list of 11 players for each match i.e only FOUR times at one shot.

Scoring:As every match gets underway, scoring starts as per runs scored by real players on the feild
- Every run counts as a run
- Every wickets counts as 10 run

Winner on runs scored.
Wickets taken by batsman count as runs, and runs scored by bowler also count towards final total.
 
In case of tie, least wickets, if still tied then number of sixes, if still tied then number of 4's (scored by batsman , byes not considered), if still tied then least extras conceeded.

Rules:
- Team roster for all the matches should be provided atleast before Sep 5th.
- If selected player is not playing/benched/acts as water boy/injured and out of tournament, only then the respective team owner can name a replacement, deadline for replacement : Just in time before match start.
This replacement  can be just before match start. Note: This facility is not for "out of form" player and who are still selected in playing XI.
 
So start pruchasing a team (at zero cost Wink), post your team of choice that you want to own.
