We've now got an off-topic forum - scroll to the bottom of the home page and play nicely!

I like the notion of strictly Cricket, infact, i'm madly in love with Cricket so I don't mind.

if anything, maybe a compromise could be made just for SPORTS!!  Off topic forum will get to heated if you have to head down the political and religious road and I think prevention is better than cure in that case.

This is what we've posted about this before (in 2006 actually):

It isn't going to happen - the whole ethos of Cricket World is that we focus on cricket, not on other things.

Granthed, times have changed, and I note with interest all of your comments, particularly regarding other sites which all have off-topic boards and appear to be more active.

I can't promise anything changing but I will look into this, raise it with my superiors and get back to everybody.

Yep, I do believe the Shoutbox is not meant for off topic posts.
If we're going to votes, I'll vote for the off-topic section as well!

Are you a Manchester United fan?  If not, then I don't think we'll get along fine on an off topic board.

I post on a few sites around the internet and moderated on one or two over the years. All these sites have off topics and are very popular with posters in general.

I understand this site is specifically for cricket but I have never understood why it has never had an off topic? In my opinion this site could have one of the best off topics on the net when you consider we have cricket fans from all over the world and I would  love to hear peoples opinions on matters as well as cricket, I’m sure most would agree.

So could you consider this and make this really good site even better?

I understand this subject has been brought to your attention before, but there never seems to be much in the way of an explanation regarding this subject.

Kind regards Steve……{flipper}
