The Blaster is a quality bat - if anyone ever comes to me for a
recommendation without having any specific type of shape/profile in
mind I would always steer them to the Blaster.

i hope you guys dont mind if i add in a little story in here... I've usually told my relatives to get me a cricket bat from india... thinking its the best thing when i get it of them, but trust me they woz worthy of just being burnt in the end. However when I went to india myself going thru a whole range of cricket bats not even looking at the labels on the bat and this was when vamps were pretty much un heard of (not like i know much about them). But the first bat I bought was the Vampire Supreme (green redish sort of stickers and grip £30 value for wat i bought it for in india) Good size, extremely good handle, and nice pick up, I think if it wasnt for that bat i wouldnt have played straight. Anyhow now I have a bat called Vampire Blaster (black stickers and black handle £30 bat i bougth from india, retail values range from 150 to 200) I bought it back in 1999, I have no words to describe on how good it is but, the handle was just perfect, not to fat not to thin, excellent pick up. even tho it was a less thicker bat than the supreme, that bat had soo much more in it, the middle and toe were superb, even if your a very powerful batsman this bat would really be the best... i mean i find it so easy to play hooks, front foot and back foot drives, digging out the yorkers and the cut shots. extremely good bat. I've just put it in for repair now :( i wish i had bought 3 of them tho at the time, but i have another vamp which i have never used but its abuot 6 years old too its called the vamp maestro, its abit thicker than the blaster but the blaster anyday! I'm not sure he has a store (certainly didn't last time I met up with
him) but I can vouch that Junaid is a good guy with some nice bats to
offer. Also if you contact him it may be better to get his phone number
as the standard of his emails isn't always the best.

Wrong question to ask. Purely because buying a Pakistani bat is a bit of a lottery - maybe the one you end up with will be a belter, or maybe you will be ripped off. I just bought a Fusion, I'l post a review soon after I have started using it. But what I can say is that customer service is second to none, great people to deal with and you get exactly what you want. |

hi spin doctor, so you are looking for a light harrow bat, well to be honset all english willow harrow bats are light. if you are looking for a stroke makers bat, then get a newbery series one in harrow, or a newbery mojlinr in harrow. www.newebry.co.uk if you want a bit more of a powerful bat, then get a gray nichols powerbow carb in harrow, or a gn predator. www.gray-nichols.co.uk kookaburra genesis, diablo rage or limited edition, kahunas are all good all round harrow bats, www.kookaburra.co.uk
hope this helps, if you need mor ehelp please do ask. |

There's no con-fusion at Fusion, because we have a pro-fusion of fusion grade 1's and we do not use lower grades,so you can not be con-fused if your bat is a Fusion. A Fusion rep that has no con-fusion about fusion willow,
Ps Fusion says, grades are used to put a price on a cleft, but if the bat maker can knock up a ball in anger its quite possible that you can get a very good bat out off the lower grades of willow,it is that you have more chances with the higher grades. and it also the pressing that counts? This is a Fusion point of view.

Grade 2 can be as good as Grade 1. This is the open secret that very few bat makers or manufacturers will tell you. You need to LOOK AND FEEL THE BAT in question if it is a grade 2. Also test its middle with a ball if possible. It could be that the willow is only graded as grade 2 because of blemishes and discolouration which have no effect on performance.
By the way I emailed J&S Wright about this issue i.e. grading and whether it is true that manufacturers will sell a bat as grade 1 purely on aesthetic grounds and whether a grade 2 can actually play better than a grade 1. I was told that they do not comment on these issues. Again I asked. Again I was told "NO COMMENT". Then I said "Money talks". Then I got no reply. |

not really, I've picked up loads of good stuff (non cricket) off there,
but even though I myself have sold many legit bats on there, there are
so many dodgy fakes kicking around

look at the colour of the blade, and the amount of grains.
clean white blades, with 6+ grains,is usaully high grade 2 to one english willow.
if the bat doesnt really have any grains or strong brownish colour, the chances are that the quality of the bat is low, or even kashmir willow. |

i am thinking of buying a MB malik supreme. i have been told that it is a grade 2 english willow?! does anybody know the actual grade as on ebay it states that it is 'grade 5'!! obviously i have a problem because i don't want to pay a lot of money for a grade 5 bat!!
does anybody now the actual grade, or a way that i may be able to tell the difference? cheers |
