I am currently looking for a bat, and have been told that Hero Honda bats are very good bats.

Made from english willow and have good middle.  Does anyone have any views on them? anyone ever had one? knows anyone that has had one ?

If you're gonna thrash, thrash hard.

I've heard some good things about Hero Honda but I don't even think that's a bat company even though I have seen stickers on some player's bats that say 'hero honda'.

Anyway, I recommend a kookabura.

Oh, I thought that they would be related to the car company.

Then why do they have their stickers on cricket bats?

Yeah there is no such bat as Hero Honda. They and Britannia (who make biscuits) sponsor a number of Indian players so they put the stickers of those companies onto their bats. Most guys using those are using SS Sunridges bats, although Dravid uses an SG.

I think MRF again is a bit over priced, purely because of which players have the stickers on their bats. (I believe the bat Sachin uses is actually a BAS Vampire Blaster)

They give him money in return for him using their logo on his bats, which in effect is advertising their name

They have been pretty clever in their approach - the only batsmen they have sponsored are Sachin, Lara and Steve Waugh so there is a lot of prestige associated with MRF bats.

Used to be quite a lot but the ICC changed regulations so that for a company to sponsor a player's bat they actually were supposed to make bats. This led to Britannia, Hero Honda and MRF all buying out small bat making companies to meet the criteria, even though none of their sponsored players actually use those bats, just the stickers.
