    Posted: 25 January 2006 at 8:20am

second test 4th day

Shoaib after being smacked black and blue by Dhoni's fireworks , bowls a dangerous Beamer to him ,,, that could have hurt ,,, good god ,, dhoni wasn't hurt by that ball.

Shoaib did'nt even bother an apology to Dhoni .

When dhoni was asked about the episode in press conference he told something like this

"well it would have been an accidental slip from shoaibs hand ,,  no one wants to hurt the player on the feild and it was not intentional "

when asked "Did shoaib talk to your regarding this ,, or asked an  apology"

Dhoni said with a smile "No"

Well I feel shoaib should learn something from dhoni ,, about how to be a gentleman.

I had seen wasim akram ,lee etc ,, who were aggressive ,, still on putting a beamer ,, they always used to apologise

Well, don't go that hard on Shoaib. I have seen him apologising, after throwing a beamer (of course un intentionally). He has never been unfair in this regard.

But what else u could do after it is done unintentionally. I dont think there is something better than an apology. Or u could pay the hospital bill if the batsman is hurt.

Firstly, Krsdy your always against Pakistani players (dunno why?)

Secondly, I've seen Akhtar apologize millions of times for the slightest mistakes with a delivery, but this time the heat was on him and Pakistan was losing their strong position they had achived!

Thirdly, He's a fast bowler, the ball might have been wet and slipped out, give the lad , a break!

I would suggest to JP to amend Krisdy's status as "Ultra Teaser" rather than "Ultra Poster" . Does it sound good enough? Well Krisdy i like u, at least it gives some variety to the forums.

And thats why i am adding too much to your forum, though some people might think that i am doing this just to increase my posts. Thats out of question. I do not wanna increase my post so much, after doing 200.

Anyway...

Shoaib wouldn't apologize to an Indian. That's why he didn't apologize after delivering a beamer.

Yeah, he did not apologise, I saw it. May be he did not know it was a beamer. Still, he really should have apologised

Simply a wave of hand can also be taken as apology. It does not necessarily mean that the bowler should bow before the batsman and beg his pardon.

Dhoni parished too early to do anything for India. Its a supporting wicket, not a batting paradise, u know. So Dhoni could not do much about it.................alas.

Dhoni is not a quality player, he is a crap keeper with many flaws and can only bat well when the ground is small and the pitch is flat and even and easy to bat on.

As they say, "when i was born i was so surprised that i did not talk for one and a half year".

This world is so much full of wonders. Say for example they some people call Dhoni a great wicket keeper batsman, at par with Gilli.

One failure dosent take anything away from Dhoni ..... I am surprised at people from other countries trying to label Dhoni as crap batsman just after one innings failure.

All I have to say to them is wait and watch him grow taller then anyone .........remember 183 hightest by wicketkeeper , 148 ,,, and just Second test match 143 under tremendous pressure are signs of a true quality player ...

Moreover mini ,, you told "he can hit in only small grounds" ,,,, sorry did you see his 4 sixes in second test match ,,,, and esp six of Kaneria ,,, that was the hughest six ever hit ,,,, it went out of the stadium and some 50 yards after the stadium and fell in a ditch and it was completely wet.

He plays with straingt bat and has awsome power .... when he gets going ,,no one can stop ,,,,in fact when he plays normally his strike rate will be more than 100 .... just imagine the day he would loose his mind ,,,, I just hope that he dosent pick aussies on his day.

I bet mini one day when he will play aussies ......will make your doubt clear.

Dhoni has idolised Gilli for so long ,,,, even gilchrist would be proud if dhoni attains Gilchrist's stds

Thanks for the comments Shan.

Yes, don't you, kidding, I am just saying that he is being used as a batsmen-keeper, when he should be used as a keeper-batsmen, he is not good enough to keep, that seperated him from Gilly and Akmal who are both tidy keepers to pacemen and spinners, plus Gilly is one of the best all time batsmen and Akmal is a very good young performer.

I dont object your views,,, but what i say is Bhajji and Kumble are difficult to keep wickets to .Even Mongia ,karim and MSK got hit by kumble due to ackward bounce.

regarding the stumping miss ,, that was uneven bounce .

But wht u say about patan's regualtion catch drop by akmal in second test?

He more then makes up for it, but yes it was a regulation catch. I would still at present choose Akmal over Dhoni in a Asian XI team though (sangakkara best asian, gilly best in world).
