Tyke, please, from my own experience, it's not worth it! England and West Indies aren't far apart in limited overs you know.

Anyways, Bangladesh played total rubbish against the Aussies. Why didn't they do what they did against the SA. Oh well, just shows that they haven't got the skills really to handle any kind of bowling. As I said when I saw the first game of the tournament, the teams weren't bowling enough short stuff and guess what, that's causing all the trouble!!

I thought England bowled well but due to the worst fielding display of the tournament, SA got away! Broad should have gotten better figures than that and if Snape had one of those drop catches to his name, he might have gotten some other overs! KP's run out has raised some eyebrows but I don't think Pollock did it intentional but hard luck to KP.

Nice entertainment Morkel, some really humungous six!!!

In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

Pretty deflating watching those clowns yesterday!  SA can play so much better and yet won comfortably enough.  It was my first glimpse of Snape and hopefully my last , can't bowl , can't bat , but by all accounts is a wonderful psychologist !
After the hiding from Australia and this debacle I don't expect to be watching England over the weekend.
Any consolations after an awful weekend (If you are English) - well the lassies were up to scratch and the beer hadn't gone up since April - that's about it !

Nice 19 run victory by SA in the cricket. But a much better 36-0 victory in the rugby!

I think if we mustered a team together from forum members we'd beat England- they're that bad.

Good one Graham!

Fair enough Clobs , but I wasn't at my best first thing today.  Try to imagine the stick I've taken in the last four days , then multiply by about ten million and you'll see how battered I really am!

I know the feeling Sledge believe me.

Were people there more excited about the rugby win or the cricket one?

for some reason I think the rugby would cup is taking dominance in rugby playing countries- unless of course you're English and you're useless at both.
Good one Graham!

Here in SA so far today, I haven't heard anyone mention one without bringing up the other. They've been getting equal attention as far as I can see.

True Mojo , but there's little doubt that the average  SA sports fan would choose to win the RWC if they could have just one of the two.

Generally the cricket fans are a bit easier going than the rugby fans too !

True, the rugby fans here tend to be more fanatical than the cricket fans. But I'd love to see the cricket boys finally bringing home some silverware, seeing as the Boks already won the World Cup in '95.

they will indeed Sledge. SA looks a real prospect to win it in both sports. SA dominated England in the rugby and they look very strong in the cricket, we'll just have to see what the outcome is...whether it be SA or NZ!

A mystery illness so I can watch England.

I'll be even more mysteriously ill if they lose though. My sisters boyfriend's a Kiwi so either way one of us is going to cop some stick.
He may be coming to watch all 3 matches with me so we could be having an alcohol related illness tomorrow night/wednesday morning.

I was talking about this match earlier in the day in biology and I thought that Sri Lanka would win.
Saafi (the lad I was speaking to) was dead set certain that Pakistan would win.
Now I think that this game is hanging in the balance.

I'd say that the bowling spells of Sohail Tanvir and Shahid Afridi have pretty much wrapped this game up.
