Well, the big one is between Aussie and England in my mother country. I don't know if I'll be going as yet. St. Vincent outfield use to be very slow and so was the surface too but everything has been worked on and the outfield won't be slow again. I can't say much about the pitch.

I might just head to the warm up grounds and have a look at the fellars in training.

How is the structure of the tournament working this time? Are they doing the Super 6 league system thing again?

Four groups of four, the two winners head to a Super 8 where 6 more games each are played.

The top 4 then go through to the semi final and final.

gee since the tournament clearly won't have enough meaningless games as it is I propose the amend the semis to best of 5 followed by a best of 9 final

Ha ha, it does seem a bit unnecessary doesn't it? I suppose the rationale is to try and eliminate luck as far as possibe, but...this is sport, get used to it

Well, you can say the real thing starts from the super 8's. All the big guns are suppose to be in it.

In St. Vincent, the tickets ranged from US$10-30 or EC$27-80. I can't remember the exchange rate for TT$ Daisy so........

Ohhh thanks for in the information Spin. I didn't realise that you all could pay EC dollars for the tickets...I thought it was all in U.S. But E.C $27-80 is really not bad.

I just quote the EC price. I don't think you can pay in EC but it's pretty cheap indeed.

Daisy, I think it's E.C $ 1 equals to $1.35 tt.

I just hope i can a tickets to the match between Australia and england. It may be too late now but you never know.
I am not too sure if the outfield is faster than before(it should from what i heared) or if the pitch is better for batting.

There are semi finals and finals of the KFC caribbean cricket cup  to be played in st.vincent next week, Wednesday, thursday and saturday. I will attend these matches after school. These matches should sends signs of the pitch, if it's a batting or bowling surface or evenly balance because it will be the bigger boys( Trinidad, Guyana) in the caribbean playing in these matches next week.
I am praying to see some of the big name guys like gayle , chanderpaul and hopefully got an autograph.

Keep trying for that ticket maybe something will work out.  Well enjoy the regional cricket and try your best to find the autograph...LOL. I don't have any of those players' autograph that you just mentioned above....(Gayle and Chanderpaul)....The only international cricketer's autograph that I have is Lara's but I am satisfied with his. LOL. I won't trade his for any other cricketer's! He's simply the best!

YES!!! I have gotten my hands on tickets for the warm up match between the poms and the oz. I hope KP and Freddie is playing.

The tickets were very cheap! US$10 which is EC$27 or 5 Pounds. I don't think you could find anything better than this for a match between 2 big team.

I went over to Arnos Vale stadium early on today to watch the match with Guyana and trinidad. The ball was coming on to the batsman quiet slowly and the ball had bounce and carry to the keeper. The outside is prefect, very quick.

Anyway trinidad won by 5 wickets chasing down 114. When Dinesh Ramdim got a quickfire Duck the score was 62-5, but s. ganga and EMRIT pull things back. The ball was moving around early on and the bowlers bowled very well.

I spotted Ian Butler in the stand a few feets away from me, i wanted to go and ask him if he has hopes for a west windies return but when i look back he was gone.
The only bad thing is i didn't wait for any autograph.

Well don't be too disappointed for the autographs maybe you could try to get some for the warm up matches with the international team. One of the good things about Trinidad is that they have batting right down their order so if the top order batsmen fail them , they still have hope and that is the probably what separates them from the other regional teams.

Are these warm-up games going to be given ODI status or just List A status?

Well, I have witnessed the finals of the regional ODI tournament! I think the pitch there would play the same as the ones for the WC.

There was great bounce in the pitch. Nothing low! The pitch was on the slow side asusual. Spinners were getting bounce and some turn! On these pitch, you can't just wack away any ball. You have to wait on the bad ones. No lateral movement though! The sub continent sides will struggle a bit with the bounce I think but the spinners will bring them back into it.

Yeah, it was pretty good to the end!

Anyhow, KP will hammer those Aussies here with the way the pitch was playing! No lateral movement, good bounce - just what a man like KP wants! Holiday or no Holiday on that day, I am "bunnin" college to watch that match.

That's the spirit Spin!!!! Ditch college for cricket!! Yay!!!!! I would like to ditch school too to go to a warm up match here in Trinidad. The ground where they are playing the warm up match is VERY close to my school so it's really conveniently located. I would really like to go to one of those matches......
Too bad you are living so far away Spin.....we could have ditched school together and go see cricket.....!!!! LOL...LOL
I was just looking at the warm up match schedules and I only just realised that the teams that are in the same group and are playing in particular countries for the group stages are not necessarily playing in the same countries for the warm up matches.....I thought that Sri Lanka and India were going to play warm up matches in Trinidad because their group stages matches were here.....LOL

I am in Scintalling Worldcup feeling. Would you believe it, all School in St.vincent will be closed for the entire week for the hosting of warmup matches.

Well England, aussie, berm and Zim is currently in st.vincent. The Austrlian Cricket Team is staying at a hotel that is a 5 mins walk from where i stays in st.vincent.

I Got a quote from BBC sports which says:
England trained in intense heat on a playing field in the small village of Stubbs. Their session was accompanied by steel band music and the crashing of waves against cliffs just below the picturesque setting.

These are great scenes for Cricketers. Steel band music with the sound of waves against the cliffs, surely should make england feel fire up.
Honestly I don't know what BBC is talking about with INTENSE Heat, I surely ain't feeling it. The Sun condition feels fantastic during the day.

CAn't wait for the replay of the CB final next friday with Aussie looking for revenge.

It's all really getting very close now.

Just for clarification, the intense heat quote is a from a Reuters piece that the BBC (and us) have used but it was probably written by someone who's just travelled out from England where, as I type, it's raining, windy, and probably about 5 degrees celsius.

These will be List A matches.

It was the case in all previous WC warm up matches. I guess it will remain same this time.
I am with Bangladesh, whether they win or lose.
