Pre-match nerves - please excuse our southern hemispherical colleagues, one is smarting from yesterday the other is bricking it about today.  That's the beauty with supporting England - you know you are going out early, so you can sit back, relax and watch everyone else getting wound up.

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

Personally I don't much care who wins this semi - ideally I'd like both sides to lose - so I am just hoping for a good game that I can enjoy when I finally get to crack open a beer in about 7 hours.

I do have a strange sneaking suspicion for the Saffas though.

Yeah it's good to get a game that finally means somthing to the aussie fans, the games between these 2 always have some dramatics attached to them, should be a beauty.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

I've decided to stay impartial here after backing the Kiwis' all the way to hell. I'd like Australia to win and lose to Sri Lanka in the final. Though in an ideal world NZ would've been playing England in the final..ha..ha.

Good one Graham!

I'm busy just now , but the posted  silliness won't be here tomorrow .  Put downs can be terrifically funny and banter is to be encouraged , but lads this is childish.
    Cricket , that's the theme.

If Australia lose the key wickets of Hayden and Ponting early, then it will be interesting to see how Clarke handles the occassion. Especially with the support of several batsman who have been starved of time in the middle.

Hussey hasn't done anything special this world cup as I predicted before they came! Anyways, I hope we get a cracker of a match today... anytime I say this, it's always one sided. Confused

Anyways, well done to the Lankans. They really are playing good and their skipper hit form at the right time of the tournament!! I knew Murali would have done damage to them.

Message to all young batsman out there - learn to play spin as much as pace!

In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

SA won the toss and are batting first... Hope they can manage to keep their wickets intact. Another big Smith/DeVilliers partnership like the last Aus game, but this time without the middle-order collapse.

I also hope Hall, Nel and Langeveldt can grab some big wickets in quick succession. Put the Aussies onto the back foot. Okay, I'm getting a bit too excited here. Let's just watch the match.......

To all Aussie fans: If SA wins, it'll be the biggest win in the history of SA ODI cricket. If we lose, it's no shame to lose to a side as brilliant as Australia is now. All the best!

Atleast Smith makes the right decision at the toss this time. Sending Australia in first last time was ridiculous. Same with Lara against Australia.

And Smith gets out early... Not an ideal start by the proteas.

Too bad Smith's brain just exploded there against Braken. Clean bowled charging down the pitch.

It's not ridiculous, it's just that Aussie is a very great side and that's what great sides do to you.

I knew he wouldn't last when he tried to dominate from the start, can't do it with his mouth and can't do it with his bat. Kallis will be the key now, he needs to bat all day, let the hitters bat around him.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

True but great sides are much easier to beat when they are chasing. There is no pressure like runs on the board. Fair enough if SA bat first and don't make enough. Just outplayed and not much more you can do, but bowling first against a team like this Oz one is asking for trouble and for them to force you on to the back foot.

Pressure got to kallis, they are cutting their own throats, some wickets aren't meant to have 350 scored on them.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

That's the match right there... I don't see SA recovering from this one. Their two big-scorers are back in the hut.

So you don't believe Gibbs is capable?

It's not over at all. Not easy from here for SA but the man the Oz bowlers fear the most (along with Boucher) in Gibbs is at the crease. If he doesn't get 50+ and in good time though then SA might not have much to defend.

I don't think Gibbs can hang around long enough, and even if he does, I don't think AB can either.

Ouch! Ashwell Prince didn't last too long, did he? Probably gonna be the worst semi-final in history. (from a spectator point of view)

This is the worst performance I've ever seen from the Proteas. They should just throw in the towel now ans save themselves further humiliation. If that's at all possible.

Gibbs should have been out too to make it 6/27. Clearly caught behind.
