Do you find those cut-away edges of Woodworm bats have better balance? or are they really, in your opinion, are simply gimmiks?

I'd say it's just a gimmick. When the company launched the story was that one of the guys went to use an old bat but found it riddled with woodworm, so cut out those sections of the bat to prevent it spreading, and the rest is history.

It just doesnt make any sense when they claim that it would enhance the balance of the bat.  You want the centre of gravity (or mass) to be close to your hand.  By taking shoulders off you are going to make the bat feel heavier.

I like the Slazenger Ski. I'm not sure if this is on every one of these bats, but the Edges are strange so it is more foregiveing if you edge it.

I recently received my generic "Hero Honda" bat direct from India and it looks and feels excellent. It is well made with the current fashion for a sweeping back and slightly bowed face. It required knocking in as the "pre knocked in treatment" involves little more than a few cursory bashes but overall it plays very nicely indeed. Not bad for thirty quid.

yeah my mate had a L & V.  He got a few runs with it mbut it didn't last too long.  When he used it he said it raced off the middle, but sometimes he found the sweet spot hard to find.  I personally got myself a fusion at the start of the season.  An astounding cricket bat in its own right, however ahat has really impressed me is the quality of service from the company.  Unforunately I had to dig out a couple of quick yorkers and got some moisture in the toe which caused a bit of a problem, but all it took was a phone call to James and a £5 postage and I got it back brand spanking new in two days!  sent it down again recently when I was worried about some harmless driving cracks and got it back again, same service, free of charge, 2 days.  If Fusion can afford to provide this level of service to their obviously well valued customers, it must be unlikely that they get many dissatisfied customers or damaged bats.

Bellingham & Smith gets my vote. I ordered my bat direct from B&S this time last year, and it was made to order. Great pick-up and balance with a sweet middle...2lb 12oz...

I'm currently in discussion with B&S about representing them in Northern Ireland.

There are too many bat threads around again at the moment - it was to avoid this sort of thing that Sledger created the sticky for bat discussion.

Therefore most of the other bat threads are going to be closed tomorrow morning, so if you want to make a final point or move the discussion to the sticky, this would be the time to do so.
