Im just seeing what really bad times you have had with a bat, like a really expensive one braking, or ordering the wrong one ect.

In one match, i left my bat at home and was forced to use a size 5 kashmir bat from the school. i don't know how to describe that bat, cheap is probably the best word. You just cant hit balls with that bat. I mean that bat is almost as heavy as the cricket ball. It vibrates like hell when is hit by a ball.

mine was when i was in the nets, batting really well, middling nearly everything and then, hit one on the toe, and the bat split straight up about 3 inches. it cracked straight through.

I guess it's a pretty light bat then.

I have seen my mates new birthday present, a puma, crack in half, at some
important trials! He did end up getting a new gm hero though.

I got hit under the eye while batting. A creeper came and hit the stumps and then I looked around and it hit me under the eye and left it black and blue for a week.

I didn't hurt all that much but the swelling was annoying and I had no treatment until the next day.

That was for a school tournament and it just shows how courageous we lads are in the caribbean. Kids of these young age shouldn't be afraid of getting banged in the head from some under 19 bowlers and on some mediocre wicket too!

And by the way, our school don't have helmets and even if they had, I wouldn't have worn it. I have never worn one in my life.  Can you believe it!

On a strip of mud (susposedly a pitch) I was of course not wearing a helmet because of the pitch condition, got a fuller length ball. Wham, it hit something, just bounced straight up and got me in the head. Luckily it was only a medium pacer. Had a slight headache but nothing serious.

I believe the pitch was damp and soft mate. I practice on those kinds a lot and never ever wore a helmet but the good thing is that I face the older ball on it.

Probably in a 40-over club match with my team chasing 169 to win, I was on 31 from around 45 balls and we needed 16 runs to win from 3 overs with 2 wickets in hand, I decided then to go and hit 2 fours and a 3 from the third to last over taking me to 42 from around 50 balls so we then needed just 5 to win from the remaining 2 overs. From the first ball of the penultimate over (I'm left-handed) their bowler bowled a yorker at leg stump, I sensed it and jumped to my right so I could play a shot on the off-side. I swung my bat back and heard a crunch. I'd hit my own stumps, and not the ball. And then to make it worse we then lost by 2 runs, I felt like I'd let down my team because I could've defended the shot instead of going for the big shot.
On extended leave...

I have a new worst experiance, in the nets using my mates laver & firewood Private bin, i drove at a half volley on off, came of the edge, taking a hunk of the edge with it. But he didn't mind tooo much, hes had it a couple of years and the whole time he's wanted a new bat because hes found l&w bats rubbish.

My bat got a huge crack in it when I was batting in the nets, but i wanted a new one anyway so I wasn't too annoyed.

I broke my arm trying to beat a beamer out of the ground a few years back - entirely my fault, played early and over it and it crashed into my right arm, breaking it just below the elbow.

That's a batting rather than bat experience though - bat ....... never had one, my bats are an extension of me and they never let me down (it's always me letting them down)
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

The worst batting experience iv'e had was that i was 2 runs away from from my century and i ran the first one hard when it came to the second one i saw the fielder and he played quite slow so i thought i might aswell take the second because my partner was a tail ender and the ball must of slipped from the fielder's hand and came flying on to my lower neck were the helmet wasn't covering i felt like collapsing but i kept on thinking of my century i made it to the crease but then blacked out for about half a minute before having my partner splash some water on me!!!most of all i made my century and after abit of treatment i carried on to make 203* (not out)but still i was thriving in pain OuchOuchOuch

but the guy at the other end was a tailender. The bowling must have been truly shocking if you could score even with delayed reactions. You must have had a terrible captain too, I would have declared. However, I think it's just 1 terrible liar here.
