Judging from the poll it seems that the "other" person must be Afridi's six. Well by the way doesn't Afridi have the highest number of sixes in limited overs cricket?

I am aware of that, clobs. In other thread, there are stats to support. Tell me just 1 way you can tell if that ball that was hit was the biggest of all or not. The only thing you have is video of that ball, and nothing else. |

I saw one in Melbourne where Afridi clobbed Watson of Symonds, I can't remember but it went miles into that big Melbourne Stadium. It reached the highest stands. Gayle on Thursday hit the record for the highest in the air though. |

People often take such threads too seriously and with some bias, its a light hearteded thread, nothing to argue over. ive seen M waugh it one of the biggest i have ever seen. i have seen afridi go miles, Lara hit a massive one against warne. Inzamam hitting murali, and vaas out of the ground. Kallis hitting a monster in 1999 against newzealnd, razzaq's many sixes have been massive (espclly that ODI in england this summer). However, Afridi's six was the biggest on that auss ground and no one has seen a bigger on as you can hear the experts say. Generally the auss grounds are some of the biggest around the world.

See this what happens, Pakistan fan (mAni_paKi) would say Afridi hit the biggest at Sharjah, and then Sri Lankan fan (Wal Bada) would say Vass hit the biggest at Sharjah. I have question to both of you, Where is this going to end up? |

Wrong. Vaas hit the biggest at Sharjah. It landed on the far side of the highway near the stadium. Bowler was Travis Friend of Zimbabawe. |

It looks like that somebody has invented a thing that can measure the ball's distance when its up in the air
.
All stadiums are not same size, and roofs are not same size. |

Henjam that was in auss, Mark Waugh did hit it miles, at that time it was considered the biggest six ever seen on telly, but i believe afridi has gone further with his, you can see what Bill lawry thinks. DF your a delight, u always make me laff with your wierd and wonderful suggetions.

I repeat. You can never say which has been the biggest sixes ever. I have already seen two such threads and found it very weird. If you want, you can change the poll to "Who hits sixes often" or "Whose hits big sixes" or "Let's discuss about big sixes."
This is truth, not DF fashion.

Micael Hussey hit one against World XI to the roof. He swept Ntini and it was called a dead ball.
The biggest I have seen is from Lance Cairns. He hit one handed six of Vinothan Jhon of SL which went miles. |

It was Asif Mujtaba who hit a six on the last ball to steve waugh and the match was tied, pakistan never won it on scores. Few of the biggest sixers I remmember one by Afridi in england last series and one by brett lee in south africa or against them.

Depends on how you describe biggest. Inzi, you should know this. Who was the pakistan player who hit Steve Waugh for 6 off the last ball to win by 1 run back in the early 90's.
Aside from that, I think Wasim Akrams during his 100 at Adelaide must rate highly. |

Judge the player not by their stats, but by their opposition.

When the Australians train at the Telstra dome they have always tried to do that. It should have been a six but the umpire just called it a no ball

I remember Hussey hit the roof at the Telstra Dome in the WXI Series, that one was bigger then Afridi's one.
