Well the MVP has been decided for us by the ICC - a panel of experts and cricketing legends who awarded the best in the world with their deserved honours.

Kevin Pietersen is the Emerging Player of the Year and the ODI Player of the Year.

Jacques Kallis is the Test Player of the Year and the joint World Player of the Year.

Andrew Flintoff is the joint World Player of the Year.

So hats off to South Africa's Jacques Kallis, England's Andrew Flintoff and South Africano-Englishman Kevin Pietersen for being the overall MVPs of 2005!

JH Kallis is the only player in history to have 8000 runs, 200 wickets and 100 catches in BOTH forms of the game. Only Sobers (tests) and Jayasuriya (one dayers) have achieved half that feat.

Dravid is an exceptional batter and certainly deserves to be in the MVP list.

Batting or Bowling?

Razzaq hasn't been doing too hot lately and he has been out of action because of injury. I don't think he deserves to be MVP.

I see the ratings are looking a bit more refined - there don't seem to be quite so many anomalies as when they were first introduced - keep up the good work.

I think the most valuable player in Test cricket should be Warne and in ODIs, I don't know.

No, he's being rested, there's a difference; He'll be 'regaining form' at home with his family.

Yeh all great players have gone through slumps, bar Sir Donald George Bradman, he is the only one, he didnt average 100 in tests for nothing. OTher players have gone thorugh small slumps, others 'medium' length slumps and otthers longer slumps. Sachin, Inzi, Lara, Ricky, Kallis, Dravid, Gilchrist have all been through slumps at some stage, but it doesnt mean you lose all the skill you have when you are inform, it is still there.

FORM IS TEMPORARY, CLASS IS PERMANENT.

See you later Gilly! Thanks for the memories!

Yup!

I completely agree with you.

Every great player has good times and along with those good times, there always have to be some bad times. Its just the way it is.

Kallis! Most Valuable Player? I don't think so! I would say Ponting is the MVP.

The top all-rounder should be Kamran Akmal. He has been outstanding with the bat lately.

Ashley Fraser Giles MBE
Ashley Giles took three good wickets, outbowling Shane Warne who matched him in the scorebook, but not on the field
