Is it possible to take two wickets with one ball and is it also possible to win a game by 0 wickets?

For example if a ball was skied in the air and was caught out, could you then run out the other batsman whilst he was running, or could you take a caught and bowled and then throw the ball onto the wickets behind you?

Also say a team were chasing down a total and were 9 wickets down, and with one run left to win a batsman is on 98*. When he hits the ball he only hits it so it won't go to the boundary, he hits the winning run and turns back to try and get to his hundred. What happens then if he is run out?

Cheers,
Stevo
On extended leave...

You can only dismiss one batsman at one time - once one wicket falls, the ball is dead.

I've a feeling for the second one that once the winning run is hit or run, the game is over.

What if it was unintentional for example if you hit one of the stumps for a run out and it deflects across to the other stump is that a "Double Play" or does the rule still apply?

1) i remember once in SL vs SA game when SL batting both of the batsmen got run out in one ball. but only 1 batsman got out. (the one who was out first) so what ever happens theres no way you can get both batsmen out in one ball.

2) i think once the winning run is scored game is over.

What happens when the team needs one run to win, and the team is on the last wicket, and the bowler bowls a wide and the batsman gets stumped out?

Good question Mojo !! The game is a tie , the wide registers before the stumping , but both the run and the wicket count.

Not so - the team batting second wins as they needed one run to win which is recorded on the call of wide by the umpire.  The game is finished and the wicket not counted.  Now had they needed 2 to win...........
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

What if, we modify the above condition!! batsman on 98 and the team requires only 1 run. He plays the short and instead of running one, he runs two to complete his 100. he makes the run and doesnt get run out!! So now, will he remain on 99 not out or a hundred?

The twonk should have beaten the sense out of the ball - boundary or bust.
