Well done Hickie on completing his 99th ton for Worcestershire!! That's his 129th first class ton and takes him above Graham Gooch and level with Len Hutton in 8th place overrall.

Only 8 players have made 100 tons with a single county , the last being Sir Geoffrey!!

Hick made 151 , Ben Smith 121 as Worcester piled on the runs at Taunton. At close of play they were 444-3 - Taunton must be the batting paradise of world cricket!!
Mental disintegration works for me !!

It seems to be the sort of pitch where if you get in, you can go on and make a big score. We've lost two early wickets, but Wes Durston has hit a run a ball fifty as we've moved pretty swiftly to 90/2. The onus is now on him to get at least a hundred as we try and avoid the follow on.

618 the final score for Worcester - Willoughby took 6, caddi£k 0-145, ouch!

Don't get too ahead of yourselves - Durston is now well set, and Cameron White is having a good season. I'll be brave and reckon with our plethora of all-rounders we'll at least get past the follow-on target.

We've forgotten how to bat today. 40-3 this morning, only White left now.

Follow-on imminent.

Well after that great victory at Taunton the boys head down to Edgabston. With knocks of 80 and 60 from Moore and Solanki we set a tough total of 267.Warwickshire began their innings and immediately Za took the wicket of Nick Knight for 0.But Warwicksire managed to steady their innings and are currently 49-1 with Carter and Troughton batting.

Stephen Moore (80) and Vikram Solanki (60) again shared in a century stand in the C&G Trophy in Worcestershire's 58-run win over Warwickshire.

Having put on 108 in a defeat at Derby, the second-wicket pair put on 111 from 18 overs in front of a crowd of 4,000.

Bears spinner Nick James did not concede a boundary in 10 overs on debut, finishing with 1-23.

But a total of 267 was more than enough when Warwickshire's recently suspect batting line-up collapsed for 209.

Nick Knight was leg-before to Zaheer Khan's second ball in the opening over.

And though Jim Troughton counter-attacked with nine fours and a six in his 58, the slide set in as soon as Zaheer bowled Neil Carter for 32 after a stand of 77 in 11 overs.

What a great victory against the bears, seems as if were really hitting form.

So with our annual Edgbaston win over were playing Essex today.

County Championship D2, Chelmsford: Essex v Worcestershire
Match starts 1100 BST Wednesday

Former England paceman Darren Gough plays his first Championship game since April as Essex face Worcestershire.

Gough is now free of a hamstring problem and is named in a 13-man squad along with Alex Tudor.

There is no place for Jahid Ahmed, despite his 4-32 in the one-day win over Sri Lanka last Friday.

Worcestershire pick from 12, with seam bowler Matt Mason to add to the players involved in last week's 10-wicket victory over Somerset at Taunton.

Davies not too good afterall

Zaheer Khan failed in his quest to become the first Worcestershire bowler to take all 10 wickets in an innings.

The Indian pace bowler had all nine overnight with Essex 186-9 in reply to his side's 650-7 declared.

But a dropped catch by wicket-keeper Steven Davies allowed Darren Gough to escape and cost him the clean sweep.

Ravi Bopara (67 not out) and Gough (50) took 73 runs off Zaheer's 33 balls in the first hour before Matt Mason took the last wicket with the score on 283.

Zaheer finished with figures of 9-138, the best of his career, and Worcestershire skipper Vikram Solanki enforced the follow-on.

Richard Johnson was the last player to take all 10 wickets in an innings of a Championship match, with figures of 10-45 for Middlesex against Derbyshire in 1994.
