This is an amazing story coming out today
The only thing I can think of that is comparable is when Southampton signed a player after receiving a recommendation on the phone from what they thought was George Weah. They brought the guy on as a sub in a Premier League game and very quickly realised he couldn't play to save his life. |

Sounds like that book "Catch Me If You Can"!
Kudos to the guy for following his dream. He ended up with one first class century to his name as a result and probably a fair bit of coin. ![]() Nonetheless, his motives are odd considering he's a Cambridge Law graduate

The police are now investigating as he would have had to have provided proof of his age to get in under the ECB's scheme of rewarding counties for playing young players. If that was false then he'll be charged with fraud, I should imagine.

I'm amazed that he didn't even have a net for them, or if he did that no
one noticed his lack of ability at that stage! The mind boggles with
what this man has got away with. One thing is for sure though, the egg
is most definitely on Worcestershires face...
