I still find it fascinating that Sri Lanka have dropped more catches than anyone in the Super 8s, yet are doing so well.
It just goes to show how many chances their bowlers are creating. |

I just added the total number in front of the teams, would suggest just to keep the teams number to 8 (qualified ones), and probably to 4 later on as tournament progresses, becos continuing with the whole group just takes a lot more space than required! Edited by wiseguy - 14 April 2007 at 8:55am |

Paul Nixon's dropped catch against Ireland shouldn't count though as Strauss caught it before it hit the ground, hence the batsman wasn't dropped. |

I think this thread has a few grey areas just quietly. A half chance isn't necessarily a dropped catch. For example the fielder may be wanting to save runs or just dives instinctively and happens to get a finger on the ball. I think that's a little harsh for that to be called a dropped catch. Though I suppose because the same rules apply it's fair to everyone.

If you get as much as a fingertip to it its a dropped catch. If you
dont get to it at all then its a missed chance. thats about as much of
a definition as you can get I think.

Oh Yeah, that catch would have been a beautiful one if had he caught it off of Fleming. Good reaction time by Gibbs, the gravity just got the better of the ball.
