You can't make up your mind for the opening pair either! I guess it's one thing all Pakistani's have in common. Wink

Pakistan has asked for a few more days to announce the squad, as they are not sure of just 10 players out of the fifteen players to be picked up for the world cup.

The sureties are Inzi, yousuf, younis khan, mohammad asif and shoab Mallik. Still to decide the openners , the wicket keeper, three fast bowlers to aprtener Asif,  two allrounders and a spinner. what a splendid state of affairs!
The biggest problems is the bowlers, shoab, serious injury concerns(cant even take steroids anymore!) shabbir not fit, Sami out of form order etc etc, Navid everywhere except in line or length. So pakistan might get in Rao iftikhar who has been out of action for almost three months, or recall samiullah Niazi or one of the under 19 bowlers, well not sure as yet!
Wicket keeper Akmal has been playing with a broken finger so will they select haider for a world cup debut mind blowing!
Oppenners are the most pathetic lot, started SA tour with hafeez and farhat, both out , Nazir has only been a one match player so far, akmal hardly convincing, shoab mallik the make shift opennner not used for some time, so who will make it yasser hameed as he has not failed, and salman butt as he has not been tried, so the musical chairs will continue.
All rounders, well chose two out of Afridi , Razak and azhar, none has shown any consistancy, neither in bowling or batting adding to that afridi will miss the crucial match against windies , so lots of ifs and butts here too!
Such is the state of affairs that one would love to be the pakistan selector for the world cup! Oh God cant we withdraw!

Tuffey is back for the kiwis???? Anyways, Bond and Vettori will be the ones to watch for the black caps. It would be a treat to watch Taylor too.

I am hoping that it's not in that order....LOL...just kidding. I don't think that Sammy deserves to be in that squad though. I mean was he even good enough to make it to the squad for the Pepsi cup???? I don't think he was included in that squad.....Confused I agree with your inclusion of Pollard though. He is such a promising player. A great entertainer. Big%20smile I heard though that in the last few matches (maybe the last one or two matches) he had not made decent scores though. That must be really disappointing because he was playing so well before that. Anyway hopefully he gets a pick. It will be a good place for him to start his international career. Maybe anyway.....in a way it could be stress for him because he may have a lot of pressure on him but I would like him to be chosen. Anyway the final 15 is supposed to be announced on the 13th of this month (God willing) so let's see what surprises the selectors will have in store for us....Wink

I a not happy with the selection of Sehwag .He isn't doing well and he deserved some punishment .It appears Chappel is not happy with his attitude as well .We could have had Ramesh Powar at the expese of Kumble or Sehwag as he can be good with the bat and is a better bowler according to current form than kumble .The rest of the sqaud is fine .

The NZ squad for me looks weak without Mills, I have become such a fan of his and it's a shame he won't be playing in the WC.

On the other hand the batting line up looks strong with Stryis and Oram back in the squad after joining the Commonwealth Bank Series squad late due to injury.

The key for me is the selection of either Gillespie, Patal or Mason as Oram has been bowling poorly of late. This means more stress is laid on Stryis, who has bowl exceptionally well in the West Indies before including best figures of 6-20 or so..

Wouldn't say well get past the knock out stage though..Cry

Good one Graham!

Also good to see Rajin Saleh & Tapash Basiya.

He is injured, but Rahim has done a pretty good job as far as I know and I think he's regarded as the better batsman and the hope for the future. Not sure who their reserve keeper would be though.

Nor Pakistan's, who have dropped Haider and Yasir Hameed:

Australia might regret the choice of Tait over Clark , if Lee's radar's off , Ponting might not fancy another loose cannon coming on.   Maybe the Aussies know something of the pitches over there , Tait's control is in the Harmison league whilst Clark is rock solid.  They obviously felt they lacked pace to win the last series - only time will tell.

Just where will they put Tait in the field - he couldn't catch a cold in Siberia!

That was a couple of days ago so they would have been aware of it while making final choices. They seem to have pegged Clark as a similar case as Hoggard is to England.

I think it's a mistake and the right decision at the same time to leave out Clark. Clark can really get hammered in the shorter version and have taken a lot of blows from Gayle in his career. A player who is mighty quick on the backfoot with the pull strokes will ask him questions. Tait and the other might do damage if the pitch is quick but sadly, as time goes, the pitches will lose it's sting. The aussies knows the caribbean tracks quite well and S Waugh said that it's some of the slowest he has ever come across so I really don't know why they opted for Tait. Clark would have gotten my nod.
