Maybe he's just doing it on the people he's seen. If he is, then there's nothing at all wrong with those choices.

What more Sir Donald Bradman has to do to get in to that spot?- QUOTE

Well i thought it was the world's best for the last 20 years otherwise i would have definetly put Don Bradman
and put in a better bowler for the windies. I have also forgotten to add Imran Khan for pakistan- fine player he was!

True, but he's Indian, and could not play for a Indian team, because there was not a team like that.

I take it that the 1st line is someone else's selection and you've misused the quote function - if not , then you should be committed for disagreeing with yourself.

Secondly , stupid posts usually are deleted so as not to make this forum a laughing stock. You've obviously never seen Marshall play , otherwise you'd realise he couldn't be compared to Lara as he was a fast bowler!

That Marshall has been hailed as one of the greatest bowlers ever to grace the game - and by some of the finest players of the game , makes your disregard even more stupid.

We encourage youngsters here at cricketworld and we hope they'll learn about the game as their tenure goes on , but that doesn't mean posting for postings sake , and idiotic ones at that, will be tolerated .

I don't know that much about Marshall...He was a fast bowler for the windies a long time ago and he was very distructive....but could he be chosen above Richards? I know that Richards was a hitter. I know it's rubbish to compare a batsman and a bowler but Marshall seemed like a top class bowler but was Richards a top class batsman? I don't think very highly of hitters

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.   Viv Richards was masterful Daisy - simply fantastic. He also bowled more than decent offspin and was a brilliant fielder.

Add to that a presence.Nobody  messed with Viv !!

So then Richards was an allrounder...hmmmm.....nevertheless....I still don't think he was a better batsman than Lara or even Sobers for that matter.

Daisy, you haven't seen him playing, that could be the only reason. He was not an all rounder, for God sake! He was a specialized batsman who is considered to be one of the all times greats.

As to the topic, I just can't find the heart to name two or three best palyers for each country, it's too big a deal for me. It may be a bit easier to pick those for BD, Kenya etc., but for countries having decades and some even having centuries old history of cricket, I don't find it possible to name two or three 'best' players. Sorry for that.
