how far can you all spin the ball. I played an many pitches and spun it a lot. Grassy track - I got the ball to spin a lot and the pace of the pitch makes it hard to play. Dusty track - Well I enjoy bowling an these. they are my favourite. Slow - You got to use more variations on these track and more pace. Bouncy - favours the top spin, leg spin. |

guys i have a real worry. i have been told to change my action so i am taller and my front arm goes a lot higher so i do not drop my head. however i have lost my leg spin, it just skids on now. i find it a lot harder to bowl my googly, my quicker one which is like afridi's is still fine, but i really got to rediscover my leg spin! i do bowl quite front on...could that be the MAIN prob? perhaps my wrist position? can somebody just confirm what position my wrist should be in when i bowl the leggie (palm facing downwards and top of your hand facing the sky?). Now thinking about it i'm a bit unsure lol. any help or tips would be much appreciated, thanks guys, Inzy |

basically, you give the ball rip with your third finger by opushing it up, your wrist turns and that generates the turn, hold on.... |

It may be one of the most difficult skills to master in cricket, but a good leg spinner will almost certainly get plenty of wickets. Leg spin involves turning a ball off the pitch from the leg-side of a right-handed batsman, to the off-side.
It is often described as wrist spin because, unlike off spinners, the revolutions of the ball are generated by the wrist rather than the fingers.
STEP ONE
The top joints of the index and middle fingers are across the seam, with the ball resting between a bent third finger and the thumb.
STEP TWO
As you release the ball, straighten the fingers and much of the work on the ball will be done by the third finger, turning the ball anti-clockwise. Flick the wrist so that the palm of the hand finishes facing downwards.

hmmm,
I bowl leg breaks but every now and then I loose controle over leg spin, googly, and top spinners. any suggestions apart from "bowl with a lower arm"? PS:Is this the flipper?Or is it something completly different??? step1)grip the ball without your third finger(your spinning finger) 2)rotateyour wrist the same way as a leg break 3)instead of the ball spinning ut of your hand you make it kind of slip over your index finger. result:Kind of an offspinner. |

guys i created a delivery a few weeks ago where i placed the ball deep within my hand and wrapped my fingers around the ball and it went straight on, occasionally not bouncing? any idea what this kind of delivery is called? also how can you bowl the googly without it being blatent (like dropping your head)? |

the only problem with that theory is if i drop my shoulder i'm more likely than not to drop my head! that would ruin everything lol. can anybody think of the ball i magically invented? i placed the ball deep within my hand and wrapped my fingers around the ball and it went straight on, occasionally not bouncing? could be a form of a slider? |

to Inzy it is the zooter you are bowling. I bet you that the ball skids a little.

spin wizard- correct mate but i thought a zooter was a quicker ball...my quicker ball is just liek shahid afridi's. it is extremely quicker and very effective when pitched up and straight. can anyone help me to acheive that more consistantly? my action when i bowl it is very quick.

a zooter isnt necessarily a faster ball. a faster ball is a faster ball lol. i have a wristy action which develops alot of spin.

to inzy thats why it have a ball call the flipper. It is bowled with a slower action but comes on faster to the batsman. It is very hard to bowl. Needs plenty of practice. |
