The International Cricket Council (ICC) has short-listed Hashim Amla, Alastair Cook, Sachin Tendulkar and Jonathan Trott for the ICC Cricketer of the Year award which will be handed out on 12th September in London.

An independent 25-person academy whittled down the long list to those four names while Cook and Trott are also short-listed for the Test Cricketer of the Year award, along with James Anderson and Jacques Kallis.

Amla has been short-listed for the One-Day International Cricketer of the Year award along with Kumar Sangakkara, Shane Watson and Gautam Gambhir.

Tim Southee, Tim Bresnan, Watson and JP Duminy are in contention to win the Twenty20 International Performance of the Year award.

The ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year Award will go to either Shelley Nitschke, Stafanie Taylor, Lydia Greenway and Charlotte Edwards while the ICC Emerging Player of the Year will go one of Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Wahab Riaz or Azhar Ali.

Meanwhile, Ryan ten Doeschate, Kevin O'Brien, Paul Stirling and Hamid Hassan have been short-listed for the ICC Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year award.

The qualifying period for awards ran from 11th August 2010 to 3rd August 2011 and the ICC has also named its Test team of the year, which includes South African fast bowler Dale Steyn for the fourth time.
