The North Lancashire and Cumbria League Premier Division title would appear to be Furness's to lose after both they and challengers Cockermouth won at the weekend.
With two matches remaining, Furness have 310 points to Cockermouth's 285 and need another 12 (18 are awarded for a win) to guarantee the title regardless of other results.
This weekend, Furness reached 192 for three to beat Cleator, who had posted 191 for nine while Cockermouth thrashed Wigton by 122 runs to keep up the pressure.
Cockermouth scored 177 for nine and then dismissed Wigton, who are now 15 points clear of bottom two sides Whitehaven and Millom.
Third-placed Haverigg were beaten by Lindal Moor.
In Division Two, the race is still on as leaders Egremont (267 points) had the worse of a draw with Workington 2nds (249 points).
In third place are Dalton, on 242 points, who lost to Lanercost while a one-wicket win for Ulverston over Seascale puts them on to 234 points in fourth.
