Further Friendlies Announced At Essex

After two days of exciting cricket against Surrey this week in front of healthy crowds at Chelmsford, The Ford County Ground plays host to four more days of friendly matches next week.

Middlesex arrive on Tuesday for the first of two days’ play against the home county. Following on, Essex then meet Worcestershire on Thursday and Friday.

With a century for Alastair Cook and half-centuries from Mark Pettini, James Foster, Grant Flower, Ronnie Irani and Varun Chopra in the two one-day games against Surrey (see www.essexcricket.org.uk for full details of both matches) the Essex batsmen are showing good form as the season approaches.

Play is scheduled to get underway at 11.00am on Tuesday (please note: all start times for friendly matches are subject to change) and admission is free.

Check out the Essex CCC website nearer the match for team news and more information on the playing format for next week’s friendlies.
