Newly-appointed Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale will lead the England Lions side when they play England, Pakistan A and the United Arab Emirates in the UAE in February.

Gale will lead a 15-man squad that includes England-capped players Ian Bell, Steven Davies, Adil Rashid, and Sajid Mahmood and Performance Squad Members Michael Carberry, Steven Finn, Gale, Davies, Mahmood, Rashid and James Tredwell.

The Lions will play three Twenty20 matches against Pakistan A, also playing T20 games against England and the UAE and they will also play three 50-over matches against Pakistan A.

Michael Lumb, James Taylor, Craig Kieswetter and Peter Trego are rewarded for excellent form in last year's county season with selection.

"We have an excellent balance of younger players who are just beginning to stake their claim for international honours and players with plenty of  experience at full international or county level in this England Lions squad, and I have no doubt that every member will gain a huge amount from the three week tour," ECB Performance Director David Parsons said.

"We ran a very successful Performance Programme during November and December and I am delighted that six players from this year's EPP have been selected for this tour. This represents an opportunity for them to test themselves against quality opposition and to press their case for a place in the England side."

England Lions squad: Andrew Gale (captain), Ian Bell, Michael Carberry, Michael Lumb, James Taylor, Craig Kieswetter, Steven Davies, Peter Trego, James Tredwell, Adil Rashid, Sajid Mahmood, Chris Woakes, Steven Finn, Steve Kirby, David Wainwright
