Tasmania batsman George Bailey has been added to Australia's One-Day International squad in New Zealand as a replacement for Michael Clarke.
Vice-captain Clarke has returned to Australia to attend to personal matters and Bailey's call-up after an impressive season with Tasmania, in which he has scored 538 runs in one-day cricket at an average of 59.77.
He was also named in Australia's 30-man provisional ICC World Twenty20 squad and chief selector Andrew Hilditch said:
“Due to Michael Clarke returning to Australia for personal reasons, the NSP has today added George Bailey to the one day squad. George is having an outstanding season in all forms of the game and richly deserves this opportunity to join the Australian squad .
"George is a talented and exciting batsman and we are confident if the opportunity arises he will perform well at international level for Australia."
