Glamorgan have been handed a two-point penalty for the 2010 Friends Provident Trophy after an England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) ruled that the pitch they prepared for the clash with Essex at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff was 'poor'.
Essex with Essex leg-spinner Danish Kaneria taking four wickets.
The ECB Pitch Panel, which comprised Mike Denness and Tony Pigott, considered the pitch reports of the umpires, interviewed the captains and coaches of both sides before upholding the umpires' original decision that the pitch took excessive turn and should therefore be rated as poor.
The SWALEC Stadium is set to host the first Ashes Test on 8th July.
